4 Connection of the Unit
Switch off the mixer before making or changing
any connections .
1) Connect the line audio sources (e . g . CD
player, effect unit, tuner) to the correspond-
ing jacks of the six input channels:
– Mono units to the 6 .3 mm jacks (18)
– Stereo units to the jacks (19)
jack L = left channel;
jack R = right channel
2) Connect the amplifiers or other subsequent
units with line input level (e . g . second mixer,
sound recorder) to the corresponding output
jacks:
– The master signal of the master channel
OUT 1 is available at the mono output
MONO OUT (15) and at the two stereo
outputs OUT 1 (16) .
– The master signal of the master channel
OUT 2 is available at the stereo output
OUT 2 (17) .
3) The overall level of all input channels ahead of
the master controls (13) can be monitored via
stereo headphones . Connect the headphones
(impedance ≥ 8 Ω) to the jack
4) Finally connect the plug of the mains cable
(14) to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz) .
5 Operation
Prior to switching on the mixer, set the master
controls (13) to minimum position in order to
prevent loud switching noise . Then switch on
the mixer via the POWER switch (2) . The LED (1)
above the switch will light up to indicate that
the unit is ready for operation . Then switch on
the connected units .
Caution! Never adjust the audio system or the
headphones to a very high volume . Permanent
high volumes may damage your hearing! Your
ear will get accustomed to high volumes which
do not seem to be that high after some time .
Therefore, do not further increase a high vol-
ume after getting used to it .
5.1 Basic adjustment
of the input channels
For an optimum level adjustment of the units
connected to the input channels, the balance
and equalizer controls should be set to a neutral
position . Set the lower knobs of the input chan-
nel controls (4) and the equalizer controls (10)
of the master section to mid-position .

1) The overall level available at the outputs is
adjusted via the master controls (13): Con-
trol OUT 1 for the output level at the mono
output MONO OUT (15) and at the stereo
outputs OUT 1 (16); control OUT 2 for the
output level at the stereo output OUT 2 (17) .
Set the control of the master channel
that is used for basic level adjustment of the
input channels to approx .
position .
2) By means of the selector switch (8), adjust the
LED level indicators (7) to the master channel
which is used for basic level adjustment of the
input channels:
Switch not pressed:
Level of the master channel OUT 1 will be
indicated
Switch pressed:
Level of the master channel OUT 2 will be
indicated
3) To control an input channel, fade out the
other input channels [turn back the upper
knobs of the channel controls (4) to mini-
mum] or mute them [see chapter 5 .3 "Mut-
ing"] .
(12) .
4) Feed the audio signals (test signals or music
pieces) to the corresponding input channel .
5) Adjust the level for the channel via the upper
knob of the channel control (4) . The overload
indicator CLIP (6) should not light up or only
light up briefly during music peaks . If it lights
continuously, turn back the upper control
knob to reduce the level .
The level control is perfect when the 0 dB
LEDs of the level indicators light up during
music peaks . The red LEDs will light up to
indicate overload .
6) Adjust the level for each channel as described
above .

5.2 Mixing the audio sources

1) Adjust the desired volume ratio of the audio
sources via the upper knobs of the input
channel controls (4) . If a channel is not used,
turn its upper control knob back to minimum .
Use the lower knobs of the input channel
controls (4) to adjust the desired balance of
the stereo signals or, in case of mono signals,
to adjust their distribution in the stereo base .
2) Control the desired sound for the master
signal by means of the 3-way equalizer (10)
of the master section . Treble, midrange and

bass can be attenuated or boosted by up to
±12 dB .
3) The overall level of all input channels can be
monitored ahead of the master controls (13)
via headphones connected to the jack
Adjust the desired headphone volume via the
control LEVEL (11) .
4) Use the master controls for the two master
channels to adjust the overall level available
at the outputs [outputs (15) and (16) for mas-
ter channel OUT 1; output (17) for master
channel OUT 2] .
Control each master channel separately
by means of the LED level indicators (7): use
the selector switch (8) to switch the level
indicators to the appropriate master channel
[see chapter 5 .1, item 2] . The 0 dB LEDs of
the level indicators should light up during
music peaks . In case of overload, set back
the master fader and / or turn back the upper
knobs of the input channel controls (4) .
5.3 Muting
5.3.1 Muting of individual input channels
1) To mute an input channel, press the switch
MUTE / REL (5) of the corresponding channel .
The LED (3) of the muted input channel will
light up .
2) To deactivate the muting function, release
the switch MUTE / REL (5) . The channel will
then be switched on again and the LED (3)
will extinguish .
5.3.2 Muting of all input channels
1) To mute all input channels, press the switch
MUTE ALL (9) . [In this case, the switches
MUTE / REL (5) of the input channels must not
be pressed .] The LEDs (3) of all muted input
channels will light up .
2) To deactivate the muting function for all input
channels, release the switch MUTE ALL (9) .
The channels will then be switched on again
and the LEDs (3) will extinguish .
If the muting function is to be deactivated
only for one input channel or for a few input
channels, press the switch MUTE / REL (5) of
the corresponding channel . The LED (3) of
the channel will extinguish and the channel
will be switched on again .
