2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht der Richtlinie für elektro-
A
magnetische Verträglichkeit 89/336/EWG und der
CH
Niederspannungsrichtlinie 73/23/EWG.
Achtung!
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netzspan-
nung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb nie-
mals selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor. Durch unsach-
gemäßes Vorgehen besteht die Gefahr eines
elektrischen Schlages. Außerdem erlischt beim
Öffnen des Geräts jeglicher Garantieanspruch.
Beachten Sie auch unbedingt die folgenden Punkte:
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nur im Innenbereich.
Schützen Sie es vor Tropf- und Spritzwasser, ho-
her Luftfeuchtigkeit und Hitze (zulässiger Einsatz-
temperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).
Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Gefäße,
z. B. Trinkgläser, auf das Gerät.
Die in dem Gerät entstehende Wärme muss durch
Luftzirkulation abgegeben werden. Decken sie da-
rum die Lüftungsschlitze des Gehäuses nicht ab.
Stecken Sie nichts durch die Lüftungsschlitze! Da-
bei kann es zu einem elektrischen Schlag kommen.
Nehmen Sie das Mischpult nicht in Betrieb bzw.
ziehen Sie sofort den Netzstecker:
1. wenn sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder am
Netzkabel vorhanden sind,
2. wenn nach einem Sturz oder Ähnlichem der
Verdacht auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. wenn Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Lassen Sie das Gerät in jedem Fall in einer Fach-
werkstatt reparieren.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker nie am Kabel aus der
Steckdose, fassen Sie immer am Stecker an.
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes,
weiches Tuch, niemals Chemikalien oder Wasser.
Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, nicht richtig an-
geschlossen, falsch bedient oder nicht fachgerecht
repariert, kann keine Haftung für daraus resultie-

Attention!
The unit is supplied with hazardous mains voltage
(230 V~). Leave servicing to skilled personnel only.
Inexpert handling may cause an electric shock
hazard. Furthermore, any guarantee claim will ex-
pire if the unit has been opened.
Please observe the following items in any case:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the
mixer, e. g. a drinking glass.
The heat generated within the unit must be carried
off by air circulation. Therefore, the air vents of the
housing must not be covered.
Do not insert anything into the air vents! This may
result in an electric shock.
Do not operate the mixer or immediately dis-
connect the plug from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled
personnel.
Never pull the mains cable when disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the plug.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
chemicals or water.
No guarantee claims for the unit or liability for any
resulting personal damage or material damage will
be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly connect-
ed, operated, or not repaired in an expert way.

3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Das Mischpult MMX-162 mit 16 Eingangskanälen
für Mikrofone oder Geräte mit Line-Ausgangspegel
ist speziell für Musiker und den Einsatz auf der
Bühne ausgelegt. Die 12 Mono-Kanäle und 4 Ste-
reo-Kanäle lassen sich auf einen Stereo-Master-
kanal und zwei Ausspielwege mischen. Die Ein-
gangskanäle sind mit diversen Einstellmöglichkeiten
ausgestattet, z. B.:
– Gain-Regler in den Mono-Kanälen, in den Ste-
reo-Kanälen Gain-Regler für die Mikrofoneingän-
ge und Level-Umschalter für die Line-Eingänge
– zuschaltbare Phantomspeisung von +48 V für
alle Mikrofoneingänge der Mono-Kanäle*
– 3fach-Klangregelung mit semiparametrischer Mit-
tenregelung für die Mono-Kanäle, 2fach-Klangre-
gelung für die Stereo-Kanäle
– je ein Regler für den Ausspielweg „AUX" (post-fa-
der*) und den Ausspielweg „MON" (pre-fader*)
– Direktausgänge (post-fader*) und Insert-Buch-
sen für die Mono-Kanäle
– PFL-Taste zum Vorhören über Kopfhörer
– LED für Peak- und PFL-Anzeige
Das Mischpult eignet sich optimal für die Montage in
ein Rack für Geräte mit einer Breite von 482 mm
(19"); im Rack werden 6 HE (Höheneinheiten) =
267 mm benötigt. Das Gerät kann aber auch frei auf-
gestellt oder in ein Bedienpult eingebaut werden.
* Diese Funktion kann bei Bedarf modifiziert werden. Da das
Gerät zu diesem Zweck geöffnet werden muss, darf die
Modifikation nur von einer qualifizierten Fachkraft durchge-
führt werden – siehe dazu Kap. 4.

Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
green / yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol
, or coloured green or green and
yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning – This appliance must be earthed.
3 Applications
The mixer MMX-162 with 16 input channels for
microphones or units with line output level is special-
ly designed for musicians and stage applications.
The 12 mono channels and 4 stereo channels can
be mixed to a stereo master channel and two send
ways. The input channels are provided with various
adjusting facilities, e. g.:
– gain controls in the mono channels; in the stereo
channels, gains controls for the microphone
inputs and level selector switches for the line
inputs
– +48 V phantom power to be connected for all
microphone inputs of the mono channels*
4 Modifikation der Eingangskanäle
Bei Bedarf vor dem Anschluss des Mischpults die
folgenden Modifikationen durchführen.
Achtung!
Die Modifikationen sind aufwändig. Da das Gerät
geöffnet und die Leiterplatten der entsprechenden
Eingangskanäle ausgebaut werden müssen, dür-
fen sie nur von einer qualifizierten Fachkraft
ausgeführt werden.
1) Das Mischpult ausschalten und unbedingt den
Netzstecker aus der Steckdose ziehen.
2) Zum Abnehmen der Frontplatte:
die 12 Schrauben (dunkler markiert in Abb. 1)
an den Rändern der Frontplatte sowie
die 8 Schrauben (dunkler markiert in Abb. 2),
die um das Anschlussfeld auf der Rückseite
angeordnet sind,
abschrauben und die Frontplatte vorsichtig vom
Gehäuseunterteil abnehmen. Die Platinen für die
einzelnen Kanäle sind an der Frontplatte befes-
tigt. Zur besseren Handhabung kann die elek-
trische Verbindung zwischen Frontplattenteil und
Gehäuseunterteil gelöst werden: Das 4-polige
Steckkabel aus der Steckbuchse („CONN3") zie-
hen.
3) Die Platte für das Anschlussfeld abschrauben
(44 Schrauben) und abnehmen.
4) Am Kanal, der modifiziert werden soll, alle Be-
dienknöpfe abziehen und auch die Muttern unter
den Bedienknöpfen abschrauben. Gegebenen-
falls auch den Fader abschrauben.
5) Die Platine lässt sich jetzt vorsichtig herauszie-
hen. Dabei darauf achten, dass keine Verbin-
dungskabel abreißen.
6) Die gewünschten Modifikationen für den Kanal
durchführen – siehe Kap. 4.1 bis 4.3.
7) Das Mischpult wieder zusammenbauen. Vor der
Verschraubung von Frontplattenteil und Gehäu-
seunterteil nicht vergessen, sie wieder über das
4-polige Steckkabel zu verbinden.
– 3-way equalizers with semi-parametric midrange

– one control each for the send way "AUX" (post-
fader*) and the send way "MON" (pre-fader*)
– direct outputs (post-fader*) and insert jacks for
the mono channels
– PFL button for pre-fader listening via headphones
– LED for indicating PEAK and PFL
The mixer is ideally suited for installation into a rack
for units of a width of 482 mm (19"). In the rack, 6 RS
(rack spaces) = 267 mm are required. However, the
unit can either be placed as desired or installed into
a console.
* This function may be modified, if required. As the unit has
to be opened for this purpose, the modification must be
performed by skilled personnel only – see chapter 4.
4 Modification of the Input Channels
If required, perform the following modifications of the
input channels prior to connecting the mixer.
Attention!
These modifications require a lot of effort. As it is
necessary to open the unit and to remove the PCBs
of the corresponding input channels, they may be
performed by qualified, skilled personnel only.
1) Switch off the mixer and always disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket.
2) To remove the front panel
unscrew the 12 screws (dark marking in fig. 1)
at the edges of the front panel and
the 8 screws (dark marking in fig. 2) arranged
around the connection panel on the rear panel
and carefully remove the front plate from the bot-
tom part of the housing. The PCBs for the individ-
ual channels are attached to the front panel. To
facilitate handling, the electrical connection be-
tween the front panel and the bottom part of the
housing can be separated: Disconnect the 4-pole
cable plugged into the jack ("CONN3").
