8. KEY TO CONTROLS

CONTROL PEDAL UNIT:
Lift up pedal (1, Fig. G/1): depress the pedal to raise the lift.
Lift down pedal (2, Fig. G/1): depress the pedal to lower the lift.
N.B.: These pedals are always installed on the tyre changer even if the lift is not
supplied, in order to simplify retrofitting of the accessory.

Rim clamping/release pedal (3, Fig. G/1): depress the pedal to clamp the rim on the
chuck; raise the pedal to release.

Chuck rotation pedal (4, Fig. G/1):
- when the pedal is depressed slightly (see fig. G/2) the chuck turns clockwise at low
0
speed;
- when the pedal is fully depressed (see fig. G/2) the chuck turns clockwise at high
clockwise (1-speed)
speed;
- raise the pedal (see fig. G/2) to turn the chuck anticlockwise.

WARNING: The tyre changer is fitted with an additional pedal controlling rotation of
the chuck (6, Fig. G/3). The operating specifications are the same as for the pedal
(4, Fig. G/1).

CONTROL CONSOLE:

Machine on light (5, Fig. G/4): indicates that the circuit supplying power to the tyre
changer controls is powered up.
Upper tool operating joystick (9, Fig. G/4):
- push UP to move the top vertical carriage upward, moving the upper tools (6 and 7,
Fig. G) away from the wheel;

- push DOWN to move the top vertical carriage upward, moving the upper tools towards
the wheel;
- push LEFT to move the horizontal carriage forward, moving the upper tools towards
the wheel;

- push RIGHT to move the horizontal carriage back, moving the upper tools away from
the wheel;
Lower bead breaker operating joystick (10, Fig. G/4):
- push UP to move the bottom vertical carriage upward, moving the lower bead
breaker disc (4, Fig. G) towards the wheel;
- push DOWN to move the bottom vertical carriage downward, moving the bottom

bead breaker disc away from the wheel;
- push LEFT to move the horizontal carriage forward, moving the lower bead breaker
disc towards the wheel;
- push RIGHT to move the horizontal carriage back, moving the lower bead breaker
disc away from the wheel;

N.B.: Since they are installed on a single horizontal carriage, FORWARD/BACKWARD
movements of the upper tool and lower bead breaker take place simultaneously,
regardless of whether the top or bottom joystick is used.
