Halogenlampe einsetzen
Das Gerät wird ohne Leuchtmittel geliefert. Benötigt
wird eine Reflektor-Halogenlampe mit folgenden
Spezifikationen:
24 V/250 W, Typ MR 16 mit Sockel GX 5,3
z. B. HLG-24 / 250MR oder HLT-24 / 250MR aus dem
Sortiment von „img Stage Line".
Auf keinen Fall dürfen Lampen mit anderen Spe-
zifikationen verwendet werden!
Vorsicht!
Ziehen Sie vor dem Einsetzen bzw. Herausneh-
men der Halogenlampe unbedingt den Netz-
stecker! Da Halogenlampen im Betrieb sehr heiß
werden, lassen Sie die Lampe nach Betrieb des
Gerätes erst abkühlen (Abkühlzeit mindestens
15 Minuten), bevor Sie sie auswechseln.

abschrauben. Im Fach befindet sich die Lampen-
halterung (Abb. 3).
2) Den Lampenanschluss auf die Halogenlampe
aufstecken und die Lampe in die Halterung
schieben (Abb. 4). Darauf achten, dass die
Lampe zentriert in der Halterung sitzt.
3) Die Abdeckung für das Lampenfach wieder fest-
schrauben. Das Gerät nie ohne Abdeckung in
Betrieb nehmen. Ein direkter Blick in die bren-
nende Halogenlampe kann durch die hohe Hel-
ligkeit und die UV-Strahlung zu Augenschäden
führen.

Montage
Das Gerät muss fachgerecht und sicher montiert
werden.
Wichtig!
1. Zur Vermeidung von Wärmestaus im Gerät
muss die Montagestelle so gewählt werden,
dass bei Betrieb eine ausreichende Luftzirkula-
tion gewährleistet ist. Das Gerät muss einen
Mindestabstand von 25 cm zu angrenzenden

Applications
The light effect unit LE-280DMX is especially suited
for effective illumination on stage and in disco-
thèques. It projects different, coloured light patterns,
thus providing an ideal dancefloor atmosphere. The
control of the unit can be made via the integrated
microphone, via the remote control LC-3 (separately
available as an accessory), or via a DMX light con-
trol unit.

Inserting a Halogen Lamp
The unit is supplied without a lamp. A reflector halo-
gen lamp with the following specifications is required:
24 V/250 W, type MR 16 with base GX 5,3
e. g. HLG-24/250MR or HLT-24/250MR from the
product range of "img Stage Line".
Never use lamps of other specifications!
Caution!
Always disconnect the mains plug before inserting
or removing the halogen lamp! As halogen lamps
heat up very much during operation, let the lamp
first cool down after operation of the unit (minimum
cooling down time 15 minutes) before replacing it.
1) Unscrew the cover (5) for the lamp compartment.
The lamp support is in the compartment (fig. 3).
2) Place the lamp connection on the halogen lamp
and slide the lamp into the support (fig. 4). Pay
attention that the lamp is centred in the support.
3) Tightly screw the cover for the lamp compartment
again. Never operate the unit without cover.
Looking directly into the lit halogen lamp may
cause eye damage due to the high brightness
and the UV radiation.

2. Achten Sie auch unbedingt auf einen ausrei-
chenden Abstand zu leicht entflammbaren oder
hitzeempfindlichen Materialien.
3. Wird das Gerät als schwebende Last über Per-
sonen installiert, muss es zusätzlich gesichert
werden (z. B. durch ein Fangseil am Montage-
bügel). Das Fangseil so befestigen, dass der
Fallweg des Gerätes nicht mehr als 20 cm
betragen kann.
1) Mit einer Lichtstrahler-Halterung bzw. einer stabi-
len Montageschraube das Gerät mit dem Monta-
gebügel (2) an gewünschter Stelle befestigen
(z. B. an einer Traverse oder am Querträger
eines Leuchtenstativs).

2) Zum Ausrichten des Gerätes am Montagebügel
die zwei Feststellschrauben (1) lösen. Die ge-
wünschte Neigung des Gerätes einstellen und
die Schrauben wieder fest anziehen.

Bedienung
Das beiliegende Netzkabel an die Netzbuchse (8)
anschließen und den Stecker in eine Steckdose
(230 V~/50 Hz) stecken. Dadurch ist das Gerät ein-
geschaltet und die Betriebsanzeige ON (11) leuchtet.
Zum Ausschalten des Gerätes den Netzstecker zie-
hen.
Um einen besseren Bedienkomfort zu erhalten,
ist es empfehlenswert, das Gerät an eine Steckdose
anzuschließen, die sich über einen Lichtschalter
ein- und ausschalten lässt.
6.1 Fokuseinstellung
Zur Fokuseinstellung die Feststellschraube (3)
lösen und durch Verschieben der Schraube im
Langloch die Lichtmuster scharf einstellen. Die
Schärfeeinstellung ist von dem Abstand des Gerä-
tes zur Projektionsfläche abhängig.

Mounting
The unit must safely be mounted in an expert way.
Important!
1. To prevent heat accumulation within the unit, the
mounting location must be selected in such a
way that a sufficient air circulation will be en-
sured during operation. The unit must have a
minimum distance of 25 cm to adjoining sur-
faces and the air vents at the housing must not
be covered in any case.
2. Pay in any case attention to a sufficient distance
to easily flammable material or material sensi-
tive to heat.
3. If the unit is installed as a suspended load
above persons, it must additionally be secured
(e. g. by a safety rope at the mounting bracket).
Fix the safety rope in such a way that the maxi-
mum falling distance of the unit is 20 cm.
1) Use a support for light effect units or a stable
mounting screw to fix the unit via the mounting
bracket (2) at the desired place (e. g. at a hori-
zontal bar or a traverse of a lighting stand).
2) To align the unit, release the two setscrews (1) on
the mounting bracket. Adjust the desired inclina-
tion of the unit, and retighten the screws.

Operation
Connect the supplied cable to the mains jack (8) and
the plug to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz). Thus, the
unit is switched on and the power LED ON (11) lights
up. To switch off the unit, disconnect the mains plug.
For a more convenient operation it is recom-
mended to connect the unit to a mains socket which
can be switched on and off via a light switch.
6.1 Focus setting
For focus setting release the setscrew (3) and pre-
cisely adjust the light patterns by displacing the
screw in the long hole. The focus setting depends on
the distance of the unit to the projection surface.
6.2 Musiksteuerung
Um das Gerät über das integrierte Mikrofon (9) zu
steuern, an der Musikanlage die Lautstärke so ein-
stellen, dass die Dynamik der Musik optimal durch
die sich verändernden Lichtstrahlen wiedergegeben
wird. Die grüne LED DMX (11) blinkt im Takt der
Musik.
Sollte die Musiksteuerung nicht optimal funktio-
nieren, die Lautstärke erhöhen oder den Abstand
zwischen Lautsprecher und Lichteffektgerät ver-
ringern.
Hinweis: Zur Musiksteuerung über das Mikrofon
darf am Eingang DMX IN (4) kein DMX-Signal an-
liegen.
6.2.1 Zusammenschalten mehrerer LE-280DMX
Es lassen sich mehrere Geräte zusammenschalten,
um so über das Mikrofon des Hauptgerätes alle wei-
teren Nebengeräte im gleichen Rhythmus zu steu-
ern.
1) Den Anschluss DMX OUT (6) des Hauptgerätes
über ein 3-poliges XLR-Kabel (z. B. Serie MEC-...
oder MECN-... aus dem Sortiment von „img
Stage Line") mit dem Anschluss DMX IN (4) des
ersten Nebengerätes verbinden.
2) Den Anschluss DMX OUT des ersten Neben-
gerätes mit dem Anschluss DMX IN des zweiten
Nebengerätes verbinden usw.
3) Die Steuerung der Nebengeräte kann mit dem
Hauptgerät synchron erfolgen oder genau entge-
gengesetzt (z. B. wenn nur ein Nebengerät ein-
gesetzt wird): Bei allen Nebengeräten, die entge-
gengesetzt zum Hauptgerät gesteuert werden
sollen, den DIP-Schalter (10) Nr. 10 nach unten
in die Position ON schieben. Zur synchronen
Steuerung diesen Schalter nach oben (OFF)
schieben.
Hinweis: Die DIP-Schalter Nr. 1 bis 9 müssen nur
bei der Bedienung über ein DMX-Steuergerät einge-
stellt werden (siehe Kapitel 6.4).
6.2 Music control
To control the unit via the integrated microphone (9),
adjust the volume at the music system so that the
dynamic power of the music is reproduced by the
changing light beams in an optimum way. The green
LED DMX (11) flashes to the rhythm of the music.
If the music control should not operate in an opti-
mum way, increase the volume or reduce the dis-
tance between speaker and light effect unit.
Note: For music control via the microphone, no
DMX signal must be present at the input DMX IN (4).
6.2.1 Interconnecting several LE-280DMX units
Several units can be interconnected in order to con-
trol all further auxiliary units to the same rhythm via
the microphone of the main unit.
1) Connect the output DMX OUT (6) of the main unit
via a 3-pole XLR cable (e. g. MEC-... or MECN-...
series of the "img Stage Line" product range) to
the input DMX IN (4) of the first auxiliary unit.
2) Connect the output DMX OUT of the first auxiliary
unit to the input DMX IN of the second auxiliary
unit, etc.
3) The control of the auxiliary units may be synchro-
nous to the main unit or exactly opposite to it
(e. g. if only one auxiliary unit is used): For all
auxiliary units which are to be controlled opposite
to the main unit, set the DIP switch (10) No. 10 to
the lower position ON. For synchronous control
set this switch to the upper position OFF.
Note: The DIP switches No. 1 to 9 must only be set
if the unit is operated via a DMX control unit (see
chapter 6.4).
6.3 Remote control LC-3
Via the remote control LC-3 available as an acces-
sory different functions may be controlled via the
microphone in parallel to the music control:
1) Connect the remote control to the jack REMOTE
CONTROL (12).
