Procedure after breaks in operation / Replacement intervals
In the event of prolonged breaks in operation, close the valve in the Hydro Shield system intake.
The Hydro Shield cartridge must be replaced on reaching the capacity stated in Section 9.
The Hydro Shield cartridge must be replaced on a regular basis and no later than 12 months
after installation.
After a shutdown of 4 weeks or more, the Hydro Shield cartridge must be replaced by a new one.
5.4
Disposal
Dispose of exhausted Hydro Shield cartridges, surplus parts and packaging in accordance with the
local regulations. If local collection points are available, take all product components for recycling.
This will help protect the environment.
6 Installing the filter
6.1
Water quality
The Hydro Shield system may only be supplied with cold water that meets the legal requirements for
drinking water quality.
I
WARNING!
There is danger to health due to improper use, e.g. the use of Hydro Shield filter for treating water,
which does not have drinking water quality.
6.2
Pressure
I
CAUTION!
The maximum nominal pressure must not exceed 6 bar. If it is higher, a pressure reducer must be
installed upstream of the filter system.
INFORMATION!
f Installing a pressure reducer can reduce the flow.
f For the Hydro Shield system to function correctly, the intake pressure must not fall below 2.5 bar.
Pressure surges are to be avoided. If they do occur, the sum of pressure surge and idling pressu-
re must not exceed the nominal pressure of 6 bar. The positive pressure surge must not exceed 2
bar and the negative pressure shock must not fall below 50% of the settling flow pressure (see DIN
1988 Part 2.2.4).
6.3
Unpacking
Take the Hydro Shield filter out of the packaging and check it is complete and intact (no transport damage).
I
CAUTION!
f Faulty parts must be replaced immediately.
f Work cleanly
f Keep children away from the packaging material. There is a risk of suffocation!
Remove the plastic film and dispose with the plastic waste if this facility exists locally.
Observe the local disposal regulations!
