6.6 Determining filter capacity and setting the bypass
The filter capacity is based on the total hardness of the drinking
water and the usage of the filter cartridge.
The total hardness can be requested from the water supplier or
established by means of a "strips test" or a droplet test. The typical
filter capacities are shown in Section 9.

INFORMATION!
f HOUNÖ recommends that the Hydro Shield cartridge size is selected so that the filter is
replaced regularly at.
f 6 monthly intervals and no later than after 12 months.
f Please note that after a shutdown of 4 weeks or more, the cartridge must be replaced by a
new one.

Installing/Replacing the filter cartridge

CAUTION!
f The filter cartridge may only be installed by taking this present instructions into account.
f Work cleanly, avoid impurities on the filter system.
f Close the building side-mounted valve before the cartridge exchange!

INFORMATION!
Water hardness should be checked.
Procedure:
1. Take the filter cartridge from the packaging and remove
the hygiene cap.
2. Before installing the filter cartridge, mark the installation date
and the replacement date (no later than 12 months) on the filter.
3. Turn the filter anticlockwise in the filter head.
4. Open the valve.
