Procedure:
1. To install the Hydro Shield system, choose a location that enables
easy replacement of the Hydro Shield cartridge and simple
connection to the water mains and to the oven.
2. The filter system can be operated in a vertical or horizontal
position.
3. The distance between the Hydro Shield cartridge and the floor or
the wall opposite should be a minimum of 65 mm to allow
adequate space for installing the Hydro Shield. When installing
the Hydro Shield cartridge for horizontal operation, ensure that
the cartridge is resting on the floor. Distance of the bracket from
the floor X for horizontal installation:
Type S
X 44 mm
4. During installation, align the wall bracket so that the Hydro Shield head and the cartridge can be
inserted later with ease.
5. The Hydro Shield system must be securely bolted to a wall or on the oven using the filter
bracket.

CAUTION!
f Under no circumstances may the Hydro Shield head be under mains water pressure for a
prolonged period without a filter cartridge screwed on.
f The torque of the fittings must not exceed 15 Nm!

INFORMATION!
f Mounted in the Hydro Shield head is an Aquastop that prevents water from
escaping if the valve is open and no filter cartridge is installed.
f The existing valve must be closed before the filter cartridge is removed.
Procedure:
1. Insert the Hydro Shield head into the bracket; observe the correct
direction of flow.
2a. If the oven is with separate inlet for drain cooling and hand shower
– mount the t-fitting on the head inlet side.
2b. Mount the hoses (observe the bending radii!) for the water intake
and outlet at the filter head.
3. Connect the water intake hose to the existing valve in the intake.
4. Connect the water outlet hose to the appliance.
Connect the hose from the t-fitting to the connection for drain
cooling if applicable
5. Open the valve and check the system for leaks.

Fitting a water meter

HOUNÖ recommends the installation of a water meter in the outlet of the filter cartridge if the oven
is not equipped with a control system indicating the necessary replacement of the Hydro Shield
cartridge. If a water meter is installed, the Hydro Shield cartridge's residual capacity can be deter-
mined at any time. Obser¬ve the operating instructions of the Aquameter.
