4.9 Instalación de la EPROM de programa del terminal con
display gráfico
Aviso: Antes de insertar/mover la EPROM, quitar la alimentación del
terminal
Para un correcto funcionamiento del sistema, la EPROM debe ser
insertada en el zócalo especial de la tarjeta, prestando atención a que
la ranura de la superficie de la
EPROM coincida con la referen-
cia serigrafiada sobre la tarjeta.
El programa puede ser grabado
en dos tipos de EPROM diferen-
tes, en función de la memoria que
ocupe. La más comunmente
utilizada en el caso del terminal
con display gráfico, es la que se
indica en la Tabla 4.10.1.

Todas las informaciones relativas a la gestión del display gráfico
(fuentes, gráficos y símbolos varios, mostrados) son realizadas por un
programa de aplicación contenido en una EPROM. Para instalar la
EPROM quite la pantalla o la tarjeta de impresora serie opcional (si
existe), quitando los tornillos, a continuación monte la EPROM
pres-tando atención a lo mencionado anteriormente (vea la Fig. 4.9.1).
Preste especial atención al manipular este componente, teniendo en
cuanta lo siguiente:
1. quite la tarjeta que actúa de pantalla, o en su lugar, la tarjeta de
impresora opcional (durante la instalación de la EPROM, tenga
cuidado de no tocar los componentes SMD montados en la tarjeta
en el espacio interior del zócalo);
2. si ya está montada, para quitar la EPROM del zócalo, utilice un
destornillador pequeño, teniendo cuidado de no dañar las pistas de
la tarjeta de circuito impreso o cualquier otro componente cercano;
3. antes de tocar la EPROM, tocar una pieza metálica puesta a tierra
para descargar la carga electrostática eventual acumulada
(asegúrese de no tocar cualquier otro dispositivo bajo tensión);
4. inserte la EPROM en el zócalo de la tarjeta, controlando que todos
los pines se inserten correctamente en su lugar (correspondencia
exacta entre los pines y las ranuras: no doble los pines, insertándo
los cuidadosamente en el zócalo, sujetando el componente por el
lado opuesto a los pines);
5. una vez insertada la EPROM, vuelva a montar la tarjeta que actúa
como pantalla o la tarjeta de impresora opcional, antes de cerrar la
tapa, y encienda el terminal.

Warning: Before inserting/removing the EPROM, disconnect the power
supply to the terminal.
For correct system operation, the EPROM has to be inserted in the
special socket on the board, making sure that the notch on the
type of EPROM

All the information relating to the management of the graphic display
(fonts, graphs and various symbols displayed) are created by the
application software contained in the EPROM. To install the EPROM,
remove the shield or the optional serial printer card (if present), by
removing the screws; then mount the EPROM, as described above
(ref. t.r. Fig. 4.9.1).
Be extremely careful when handling this component, keeping the
following in mind:
1. remove the card which acts as a shield or if necessary the optional
printer card (when installing the EPROM, be careful not to touch the
SMD components on the board in the space inside the socket);
2. if already present, to remove the EPROM from the socket, use a
small screwdriver, being careful not to damage the tracks on the
printed circuit or any other nearby component;
3. before touching the EPROM, touch a grounded part to discharge
any accumulated static electricity (do not touch any powered
devices);
4. insert the EPROM in the socket on the board, checking that all the
pins are correctly inserted in place (exact correspondence between
the pins and the slots; furthermore, do not bend the pins, carefully
inserting them into the socket, holding the component by the
opposite side to the pins);
5. Once the EPROM has been inserted, remount the card which acts a
shield or the optional printer card, before closing the cover, and
switch the terminal on.
