Descaling
Kettle
In order to increase the service life of the
kettle, it must be descaled at regular inter-
vals. The water hardness determines how
often the appliance must be descaled.
Calcium deposits can be recognized by
the staining on the inside of the kettle.
BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle
To descale the kettle proceed as follows:
Fill the kettle (9) up to the MAX mark
with a mixture of fresh water and citric
acid or vinegar essence (approx. 5%
acid).
Allow the descaling solution to soak in
for approx. 30 minutes.
To clean the calcium filter, remove it
from the holder and soak it in the des-
caling solution.
Empty the kettle and rinse it several
times with fresh water.
Clean the calcium filter under run-
ning water and insert it into the holder
again.
NOTE
►
If you use a commercially available
descaling agent, observe the manu-
facturer's instructions for use.
Coffee machine
In order to increase the service life of the
appliance and not impair the quality of the
coffee, it must be descaled at regular in-
tervals. The descaling interval depends on
the water hardness (we recommend pre-
cautionary descaling every three months).
To descale the coffee machine proceed as
follows:
Fill the water tank (11) up to the MAX
mark with a mixture of fresh water and
citric acid or vinegar essence (approx.
5% acid).
Swivel in the filter compartment (21)
with the permanent filter (18) without
coffee powder.
Put the glass jug (16) with lid onto the
the resting plate (15).
Switch on the coffee machine.
Wait until roughly one cupful has run
through and switch off the coffee ma-
chine.
