The labels should be kept clean and should be replaced immediately if they are damaged or begin to peel off.
Carefully read the definitions of the safety signals and memorize them well:
1) It is mandatory that you carefully read the instruction manual before operating the lift.
Before every maintenance operation it is mandatory to disconnect the power supply and carefully read the instruction manual.
2) Danger of falling: do not get on the lift.
3) Danger of crushing: do not get near the moving parts
4) Danger of electrical shocks: the electrical panel is live; before any intervention, always disconnect the electrical power supply.

2.3 INSTALLATION PLACE AND CLOTHING

Choose a suitable space to install the machine, in a safe working environment, evaluating carefully following aspects:
• The place must be safe, free from obstacles and protected from atmospheric agents. From the control desk the operator must be able to oversee the complete
installation and the operation area and to see immediately the presence of unauthorized people or of obstacles that may cause danger.
• The minimum distance of the columns and of the danger area (Fig.4) from the walls of the building where the lift must be installed, should be of 70 cm at
least.
• Lighting of the area should be good, but not dazzling and without too bright lights. The environment should be free of sources or working processes that may
develop inflammable vapors or gases..
• Avoid wearing loose or flapping clothes when working, as they may get stuck in the lift moving parts.
• As required by local norms in the country of installation of the lift, the operator will have to wear, apart from suitable clothing, additional accident protection
accessories like, for example: helmet, glasses, gloves, special shoes, etc.

2.4 ENVIRONMENT AND POLLUTION

Do not use the lift to wash, take grease off motor-vehicles, sandblasting or grinding operations.
As for the use and disposal of lift cleaning and maintenance products, users are required to comply with the regulations in force in their country.
They are also advised to follow the indications given by the manufacturers of such products
2.4.1 DISMANTLING THE LIFT
If the lift is to be dismantled for demolishing or because it is not used, some precautions should be taken in order to avoid environmental
pollution risks:
• The oil, of the oleodynamic station, of the circuit and of the cylinders should be completely collected.
(ELECTRO-MECHANICAL HOISTS ARE EXCLUDED)
• Disassemble the lift components, and divide them into groups of similar material to ease differential destruction.
• The hydraulic oil that has been used, the rubber parts and the metal scrap are classifi ed as special waste and should be eliminated or
temporarily stored in accordance with the current anti-pollution laws of the country where the lift is being used.
(ELECTRO-MECHANICAL HOISTS ARE EXCLUDED)
