INFORMATION
Please observe the instructions for working light-
weight alloy (see bottom of page 11).
After bending and alignment of the orthosis,
the thigh bars are fixed to the lower joint sec-
tion tube adapter with the supplied screws
(501S32=M4x10x10) for trial fitting.
3.3 Trial Fitting of the orthosis
For the recommended use of the unilateral joint
bar system, plug connectors for the thigh bars
which make length adaptation much easier are
available (Fig. 23).
Depending on the design of the orthosis the thigh
bars can either be used without leg shells in the
thigh area, or you may attach leg shells to the
thigh bars, preferably in the area of the connec-
tors. A fixing clamp (different versions would be
possible: e.g. metal; carbon fibre) for additional
reinforcement of the thigh shells is recommended
to provide rotational stability.
INFORMATION
The walking orthosis must be aligned so that the
two thigh bars are mounted parallel to one another
on the leg orthosis components (especially in case
of unequal flexion contractures in the hip or knee
joints).
Otherwise the functionality of the release mecha-
nism in the sitting joint is impaired, since the sitting
joint can only be unlocked when both thigh bars are
parallel to one another!
