CHECK FOR SUCTION

Priming your pump is first step to getting ready to spray. Do a quick check to make sure there is suction as the
i
valves can stick for various reasons. There are a few tricks Professionals use to make sure the sprayer primes
without trouble at the beginning of every use. Follow the steps below or watch them in action at:

YOU WILL NEED
Mallet
Water
Extension cord
FIGURE 1: CHECK FOR SUCTION
1.
Remove suction tube if attached.
2.
Press red pusher stem 3-4 times.
3.
Turn PRIME/SPRAY knob to PRIME. Switch unit on and put your
finger over the inlet opening.
• If you feel a light suction, your pump is ready to use. Shut the pump
OFF (0).
• If not, shut the pump OFF (0) and perform the steps below.

1.
Attach the spray hose to the outlet port.
2.
Tap the outlet valve / spray hose connection a few times with a
mallet.
3.
Switch unit ON and set the PRIME/SPRAY knob to PRIME.
4.
Put your finger over the inlet opening once again.
• If you feel a light suction, your pump is ready to use. Shut the pump
OFF (0).
• If not, shut the pump OFF (0) and perform the steps below.

1.
Make sure pump is switched OFF and suction tube still not connected.
2.
Carefully turn the unit over.
3.
Pour a small amount of water (1-2 oz.) into the inlet opening.
4.
Press red pusher stem 3-4 times.
5.
While unit is flipped over, turn the unit ON. The water should be
sucked in and come out of the outlet port. Shut the unit OFF. Note:
After every use, this procedure should be repeated with some
light household oil. See "Long Term Storage" section in the
instruction manual.
