4. Use/Operators
4.1 Intended use
The lifting column should only be used for adjusting table heights and other adjustment tasks of
a comparable type.
The lifting column should not be used in areas where there is a risk of explosion or where there is
direct contact with foodstuffs, pharmaceutical or cosmetic products.
Catalogue information, the contents of these assembly instructions and/or conditions determined
in the order are to be taken into account.
The values given in these assembly instructions are maximum values and must not be exceeded.
The lifting column system may not be used in areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere,
especially in areas enriched with with oxygen, combustible anaesthetics (category AP) or
combustible anaesthetics with oxidizing agents (category APG) as well as in direct contact with
foodstuff, pharmaceutical or cosmetic products.
4.2 Improper use
"Improper use" means that the information given in
section Intended use is not being observed.
In the event of improper use, incorrect handling or if this lifting column is used, installed or
handled by untrained personnel, this lifting column may pose risks for personnel.
Moving personnel with this lifting column is an example of improper use and is prohibited.
In event of improper use, RK Rose+Krieger GmbH is no longer liable and the general operating
licence of this lifting column will expire.
4.2.1 Reasonably foreseeable misuse

Overloading the appliance by exceeding the weight or duty cycle
•
Use outdoors
•
Use in an environment with high air humidity > dewpoint
•
Use in rooms with with a potentially explosive atmosphere as defined in the ATEX directive
•
Opening the appliance
•
Use on an insufficiently firm base
•
Use with damaged feed lines or housing
Design measures should be taken to prevent potential malfunction of the limit switch. Lateral
forces must not lead to toppling. No risk must arise if the mains plug is pulled out.
4.3 Who is authorised to use, install and operate this lifting column
All activities on the partly completed machine must only be carried out by trained personnel, such
as mechanics or electrical trades. Regulations concerning the operator must be determined by the
manufacturer of the respective medical device.
