6 Operation

The inverter and the PC must be located in the
same network. As soon as the inverter is con-
nected to the Internet, the inverter displays its
own IP address (1) in cycles. If you enter this
IP address in the browser's input field, the web
server for the inverter opens.
2.
To prevent data from being transferred, remove the
network cable from the inverter or deactivate the data
transfer in the Settings for Ethernet (→ Page 32).

1.
Ensure that you use a Cat-5 patch cable that is suitable
for the length of the connection (100 m) as the data
cable.
2.
Ensure that the pin assignment for the data cable com-
plies with the following specifications:
Product
Connection
RJ45 plug
Contact
1)
Risk of destruction of the RS485 bus input at the inverter:
Do not assign the plug with a 24 V DC contact.
3.
Connect the data cable to the COM1 RS485-Bus (RJ45
bush) on the inverter.
4.
Connect the data cable to an approved product for dy-
namic feed-in management, for example.
5.
If required, ensure that the RS485-Bus terminates at
the inverter.
5.10.2.1 Using an alternative data cable for the
RS485-Bus (COM1)
1.
Ensure that the total length of the RS485-Bus does not
exceed 100 m.
2.
Ensure that the specified pin assignment is used when
using the alternative data cable to connect an external
product to the RJ45 bush on the first inverter.

1.
Ensure that you use a CAT-5 data cable which is suit-
able for the length of the connection.
Note
The inverters come with the required data
cable (which cannot be used outdoors).
2.
Where possible, use the Schneider iEM3155 energy
meter with the Modbus data cable from the product
manufacturer.
3.
If you are using a different energy meter or a different
data cable, ensure that the pin assignment complies
with the specifications:

Contacts 1 to 5 are not occupied.
4.
Connect the data cable to the Modbus (COM2) [RJ45]
on the inverter.
5.
Connect the data cable to an approved product, e.g. the
Schneider iEM3155 energy meter.
6.
If required, you can find out which other energy meters
are compatible in the Overview of operating and display
functions (→ Page 9) in the operating instructions for
this product.
7.
If you would like to receive further information about
approved products, ask customer service.
8.
Ensure that the total length of the RS485-Bus does not
exceed 100 m.
