Replacing the visor
If fitted, remove the covering cap from the drinking valve and
dismount it together with the frame.
Loosen the screws (Figure F-1 on Page 3) and remove the rotary
knob.
Unhook the cap from the visor frame. If a drinking valve is fitted,
remove the cap from the connection piece by pulling it away from
the drinking valve.
The drinking valve remains in the connection piece.
Remove the screws from the visor frame (Figure G on Page 3).
Spread the visor frame, tilt it towards the front and pull apart
sideways.
Detach the visor from the rubber frame.
NOTICE
Moistening either the facepiece body or the visor frame facilitates
the assembly of the visor.
Insert the new visor in the visor frame: Align the center marking of
the visor and the center marking of the facepiece body. Make sure
that the visor is properly seated in the facepiece body.
Apply pressure onto the visor frame until it snaps into place at the
center of the visor, then tighten with new self-locking screws until
the gap is closed.
If the old screws are used again, they must be secured with
Loctite 221.
Align the wiper: The wiper arm must be in the center of the visor
and the wiper must be correctly put on the visor after the
assembly.
If fitted, adjust the drinking valve.
Hook the cap into place on the button. If a drinking valve is fitted,
pull the cap over the drinking valve. Hook the cap into the visor
frame.
140
Mount the rotary knob, then fasten the three screws (Figure F-1
on Page 3, recommended torque: 0.44+0.03 ft lb/60+5 Ncm).
Use Loctite 221 to secure the screw at the rotary knob.
If a drinking valve is fitted, put the covering cap on the drinking
valve.
Replacing the wiper (Figure H on Page 3)
If the wiper is not removed but only turned and pulled off from the
wiper arm, the wiper arm could bend. This can impair the correct
functioning of the wiper.
If the wiper must be replaced, always remove the wiper arm as follows.
If fitted, remove the covering cap of the drinking valve and
dismount it together with the frame.
Loosen the screws (Figure F-1 on Page 3) and remove the rotary
knob (Figure H-6 on Page 3).
Unhook the cap from the visor frame. If a drinking valve is fitted,
remove the cap from the connection piece by pulling it away from
the drinking valve.
The drinking valve remains in the connection piece.
Remove the button (Figure H-3 on Page 3) from the connection
piece.
For this purpose, push apart the spring (Figure H-7 on Page 3),
then remove the button from the connection piece.
Loosen the clip (Figure H-4 on Page 3) with a screw driver, then
pull it up and away from the connection piece.
Pull the wiper shaft (Figure H-5 on Page 3) out of the connection
piece.
If fitted, remove the mouthpiece.
Remove the nose cup.
Remove the wiper (Figure H-1 on Page 3) from the Dräger
FPS 7000 RP.
