Donning the Dräger FPS 7000 RP
 Release the Dräger FPS 7000 RP from the standby position.
Full face  Pull the harness apart, then put your chin into the chin
mask cup of the mask body (Figure C).
 Pull the harness over your head and draw it
backwards.
 Adjust the full face mask.
 Pull the straps until evenly tightened; first the neck
straps, then the temple straps, finally the front strap
(Figure D).
 Don the helmet, close the chin strap and check that
the helmet fits firmly on the head. Tighten the chin
strap if necessary.

 Take hold of both mask/helmet adapters, then place

 Put your chin in the chin cup of the mask body.
 Pull both mask/helmet adapters simultaneously
backwards and clip them into the helmet mask guide.
 Adjust the mask body. The entire face seal must lie
flush against the head. Push the mask body under the
front strap or under the flame/heat barrier of the
helmet, if necessary.
 Close the chin strap and check the tight fit of the
helmet, retighten the chin strap if necessary.
 Have a second person check the fit of the mask/
helmet combination.
The mask/helmet adapters must be locked into the
mask guide.
 Don the closed-circuit breathing apparatus and connect the
Dräger FPS 7000 RP to the closed-circuit breathing apparatus
Lock the plug-in coupling into the connector.
 If a telephone device is used:
The position of the receiver must match the position of the ear.
Use a connector or prick pincers to connect the telephone device
to the telephone line and check if the telephone device works.

Checking for tight fit

 Press both breathing hoses of the closed-circuit breathing
apparatus tightly together and inhale until negative pressure is
generated in the full face mask.
 Hold your breath for a moment.
The negative pressure should be maintained. If not, retighten the
harness or adjust the position of the mask guide on the helmet
 Repeat the test twice.
Make sure that the Dräger FPS 7000 RP is airtight before use!
If the Dräger FPS 7000 RP leaks, there is a danger of inhaling toxic
substances!
