Maintenance work

 Check all parts for deformation and damage and replace them, if
necessary.
 Retighten the two screws on the cap (recommended torque:
60+5 Ncm).
Do not tighten, loosen or remove the self-locking nut at the ball joint
of the mask/helmet adapter. Otherwise, the function of the mask/
helmet adapter will be impaired.
Both mask/helmet adapters can have a different ball joint mobility,
which will not impair their functionality.
 Following any maintenance work and/or replacement of
components, repeat the leak test.

Replacing the inner mask (Figure I)

 To disconnect the inner mask, take hold of the inner mask at the
tip of the nose, pull it off the cam and remove it all around from the
speech diaphragm groove.
 To attach and centre it, place the tip of the nose of the inner mask
on the cam. Insert the ring of the inner mask into the groove in the
speech diaphragm, first at the bottom and then all around.

Replacing the speech diaphragm (Figure A3)

 Remove the mouthpiece, if necessary.
 Disconnect the inner mask.
 Release the speech diaphragm with the wrench R 26 817 and
remove it.
 Perform a visual inspection of the speech diaphragm and the O-
ring and replace them if necessary.
 Insert the O-ring, then screw in the speech diaphragm.
 Attach the inner mask.
 Mount the mouthpiece, if necessary.

Replacing the drinking valve

 Remove the mouthpiece.
 Disconnect the inner mask.
 Remove the covering cap of the drinking valve and dismount it
together with the frame.
 Loosen the screws (Figure F-1) and pull off the wiper handle
(Figure H-6).
 Unhook the cap from the visor frame, then remove it from the
connector by pulling it upwards over the drinking valve.
 Swivel the drinking valve downwards by 180
the connector.
 Attach the new drinking valve to the connector so that it points
downwards.
 Turn the drinking valve back and forth to fix it in the connector, so
that the safety lug of the drinking valve grips below the safety lug
of the connector.
 Turn the drinking valve upwards to the end stop.
 Hook the cap into place on the button and place it on the drinking
valve, then hook it into the visor frame.
 Pull the covering cap of the drinking valve with the frame over the
drinking valve, then mount it to the cap.
 Mount the wiper handle, then fasten the three screws
(recommended torque: 60+5 Ncm).
 Use Loctite 221 to secure the screw at the wiper handle.
 Put the covering cap on the drinking valve.
 Attach the inner mask.
 Mount the mouthpiece.
