Operation:
For normal DECT operation the baby side unit should send a beacon signal to the
parent side unit to confirm its existence. Because it is necessary to guarantee
that the base unit can immediately connect to the parent unit whenever the baby
cries, we use NEMo (No Emission MOde) feature to assure no emission and still
achieve an immediate reaction.
When the baby unit is on standby and no noise or baby crying is detected, it does
not transmit any radiation. When the unit detects any sound which is higher than
the sensitivity level (set by factory), it starts to transmit a signal to the parent unit
in order to establish digital communication. This may take up to 8 seconds. The
zero emission feature is controlled by the bottom switch on the baby unit (15).
• Undetected Parent Unit Out of Range:
Due to the fact that the baby unit doesn't have a beacon to scan if the parent unit
is in range or not, when parent unit is in an out of range distance, both of them do
not recognize that it´s already out of range. So a facility is provided to user to test
the link status. With a short press on the power key (4), the parent unit will always
search for the baby unit whether it's in range or not. If it finds the baby unit, it
then lets off a long beep and the LED link indicator (8) will keep flashing every 5
seconds. If the baby unit is out of range, then it lets off a 'beep beep beep' sound
and the LED link indicator (8) flashes in an out of range status.
2) Low Radiation Mode
Setting:
Turn the switch (15) to 'LOW' position, and the unit goes into 'Low Radiation
Mode'.
Operation:
The baby unit transmits a confirmation signal to the parent unit during 20 seconds
every 2 minutes. If the parent unit receives this signal, then the link LED indicator
(8) stays turned on to indicate that it's within range. On the contrary, if the parent
unit cannot receive this signal after next 2 minutes, the LED will flash with a
beeping tone to act as a warning signal to alert the user that it is Out Of Range.
With the switch in the 'LOW' position a continuous low power connection to the
parent unit is activated. The above described delay for establishing the link will
not take place in this case.
