Starting the equipment

■
Place the scales on a secure, level base. Set the adjustable legs using the
spirit level to ensure the scales are mounted horizontally. Insert the power
adapter cable into the rear panel of the platform to connect power to the
personal scales.
Weighing
■
Step on the scales (you do not need to turn on the device).
Height measurement with BMI display
■
Carefully fold up the height rod and push it up. Place the top part on the
patient's head.
The display shows the size in centimetres followed by the body mass index.
Taring
■
The function key on the rear of the display resets the scales to zero.
Press the key. The display shows »0.0 kg« and the scales are ready for use.
Mother/child function
■
• An adult stands on the scales.
> The display may show »47.6 kg« for example
• Press the function key. > The display changes to »0.0 kg«
• The mother can now step off the scales... > Display »–47.6 kg«
• ...and steps onto the scales again with the child.
> Now the display indicates the child's weight, for example »5.1 kg«
When the mother and child step off the scales, the display will show for
example »–47.6 kg«. Pressing the function key allows you to reset the
scales to »0.0 kg«.
The scales do not automatically reset to »0.0 kg« so that several tarings
can be performed in turn.
Switching the scales off
■
The scales automatically switch off when the display has shown »0.0 kg«
for approx. 15 seconds. To switch the scales off completely, remove the
mains adapter from the scales or the connector from the socket.
Calibration meter
■
The calibration meter reading shows how often the
scales have been calibrated. The meter reading stored
must match the calibration meter plate secured with an adhesive label.

■
The calibration meter reading is displayed for 2 seconds when the mains
power adapter is inserted.

Can only be used for EN 60601-1 approved medical devices or for special
purposes

■
Zero setting
– Not idle > check ground stability
> Contact service department
Taring not possible
– Not idle > Stand still
– Negative weight reading
> Disconnect power briefly
Overload (more than 250 kg on the platform)
> Remove weight from the platform.
Low load reading
> Contact service department
The scales are set to zero when powered up
> Step off the scales > Start again > Contact service
department
Height rod not in reference position on power-up
> On power-up, fold in and insert the height rod fully.
