2. Commissioning
Place bending drive (3) on solid, level footing. Make sure that there is sufficient
space for the fully assembled pipe bender and the pipe to be bent. Install the
lower roller holder (1) into the lower groove (3) of the bending drive so that the
feet (13) point downward and the bolt (4) can be inserted. Secure the bolt (4)
with the spring-loaded pin (5). Install the upper roller holder (2) into the upper
groove of the bending drive (3) so that the livery is readable; fasten with bolt
(4) and secure bolt with spring-loaded pin (5). Insert the rollers (6) for the
corresponding pipe size, see scale (14), into the drill holes between the roller
holders (1 and 2). Fit the bending former for the corresponding pipe size (7)
on to the bending drive (3). Fit the advance lever (8) on to the bending drive
(3). Unscrew the locking screw (9) approx. 1 turn. Lock off the screw of the
return valve (10) by screwing in and tighten finger tight.
3. Operation
Lift back the upper roller holder (2). Insert the pipe between the rollers (6) and
the bending former (7). Close back the upper roller holder (2). Push down on
the advance lever (8) several times until the pipe has been bent to the required
angle. Open the screw of the return valve (10), the bending former (7) returns
along with the pipe bend to the original position. Lift back the upper roller holder
(2) and remove the bent pipe.
Bespoke bending (Fig. 2)
On the outer side of the bending formers (7) two markings (12) are indicated,
which allow for precise bending. At this point the bespoke mark is to be made
at the marking (12) over the centre at which the 90° bend should be completed.
For guidance of the bending angle, angle markings (11) are indicated on the
upper roller holder (2).
NOTICE
To ensure the functional reliability and to avoid hydraulic oil escaping, the locking
screw (9) must be tightly locked off after completion of bending and for trans-
porting of the bending drive.
4. Maintenance
Monitor the hydraulic oil (Fig. 3). Don't overfill, otherwise hydraulic oil may
escape while in operation.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1. Fault:
Bending former (7) no longer feeds forward after numerous up
and down movements of the advance lever (8).
Cause:
Return valve (10) not shut off. Too little hydraulic oil in the
system. Air in the system.
Remedy: Tighten the return valve (10) finger tight. Fill with hydraulic oil
(Fig. 3). Open the return valve (10) and move the pump lever
up and down several times until the air is expelled.

5.2. Fault:
90° bends cannot fully be achieved.
Cause:
Too little hydraulic oil in the system. Rollers (6) in the wrong
position between the roller holders (1 and 2).
Remedy: Fill with hydraulic oil (Fig. 3). Check the position of the rollers (6).
6. Disposal
Before disposal of the REMS Python, the hydraulic oil must be drained and
disposed of separately according to legal regulations.
7. Manufacturer's Warranty
The warranty period shall be 12 months from delivery of the new product to the
first user. The date of delivery shall be documented by the submission of the
original purchase documents, which must include the date of purchase and the
designation of the product. All functional defects occurring within the warranty
period, which are clearly the consequence of defects in production or materials,
will be remedied free of charge. The remedy of defects shall not extend or
renew the warranty period for the product. Damage attributable to natural wear
and tear, incorrect treatment or misuse, failure to observe the operational
instructions, unsuitable operating materials, excessive demand, use for unau-
thorized purposes, interventions by the customer or a third party or other
reasons, for which REMS is not responsible, shall be excluded from the warranty.
90°
Services under the warranty may only be provided by customer service stations
authorized for this purpose by REMS. Complaints will only be accepted if the
product is returned to a customer service station authorized by REMS without
prior interference in an unassembled condition. Replaced products and parts
shall become the property of REMS.
The user shall be responsible for the cost of shipping and returning the product.
The legal rights of the user, in particular the right to make claims against the
seller under the warranty terms, shall not be affected. This manufacturer's
warranty only applies for new products which are purchased in the European
Union, in Norway or in Switzerland.
This warranty is subject to German law with the exclusion of the United Nations
Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods (CISG).
