Description
The RIDGID 960 Roll Groover forms standard rolled
grooves in steel, stainless steel and aluminum pipe. The
960 Roll Groover will groove 1
Schedule 10 and Schedule 40. It can also be adapted for
1" Schedule 10 and 40 and 2" – 6" Type K, L, M and
DWV Copper Tube with a roll change. The grooves are
formed by mechanically advancing a grooving roll into the
pipe which is supported by a drive roll. The only adjust-
ment necessary is for the depth of the groove.
The 960 Roll Groover is a portable unit intended for
occasional use on the jobsite and should not be used for
high volume work or for production work in a pipe fabri-
cation shop. The unit is specifically designed for use with
the RIDGID Model 300 Power Drive (38 and 57 RPM
models).
When properly used, the Model 960 Roll
CAUTION
Groover makes grooves that are dimensionally within the
specifications of AWWA C606-87. Selection of appro-
priate materials and joining methods is the responsibil-
ity of the system designer and/or installer. Before any
installation is attempted, careful evaluation of the specific
service environment, including chemical environment
and service temperature, should be completed.

Instructions
WARNING
The 960 Roll Groover should only be used with the
300 Power Drive.
Use only power drives that operate at 57 RPM or
less. Higher speed machines increase risk of injury.
To prevent serious injury, proper assembly of the
Roll Groover is required. The following procedures
should be followed:
