IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1
Read these instructions for use and the
instructions for use of the accessories
carefully and completely for using them for
the first time. Keep the instructions in a
safe place in case you need to read them
again later. If the instructions for use are
not followed, injuries and damage to the
product cannot be ruled out.
Report serious incidents to the manufac-
turer and the competent regional
authorities.
Always seek the advice of a doctor before
treating a disease.

Structure of the warnings

In these instructions for use, safety-
related warnings are organised into
hazard levels:
- The signal word CAUTION is used to
indicate dangers that may result in slight
to moderate injuries or impair treatment
if precautionary measures are not
taken.
- The signal word NOTE is used to indi-
cate general precautionary measures
for working with the product that should
be followed to avoid damaging the
product.
Handling the nebuliser
system
Check the nebuliser system before every
use. Replace all broken, misshapen or
heavily discoloured parts. Damaged parts
can impair the function of the nebuliser
system and negatively affect the treat-
ment.
Do not use the nebuliser system if the
power adapter shows visible signs of dam-
age. Otherwise there is a hazard from live
parts (e.g., electric shock).

Therefore, follow the instructions below:
- Always unplug the power adapter from
the socket to ensure complete discon-
nection from the mains.
- Never disconnect the power adapter
from the socket with wet hands. You
might get an electric shock.
- Do not allow pets (e.g., rodents) to get
close to the cables.
- Do not use the nebuliser system in
areas where there is a risk of explosion
or in the presence of gases that promote
combustion (e.g., oxygen, nitrogen
oxide, flammable anaesthetics).
- Keep the nebuliser system away from
hot surfaces (e.g., hob).
- Do not use the system while operating
motorised vehicles (risk of accident).
Treating people who need
assistance
- People who need assistance must be
supervised constantly by an adult during
the nebuliser treatment. This is the only
way to ensure safe and effective treat-
ment. Such persons often underesti-
mate the hazards associated with the
devices (e.g., risk of strangulation with
the cable). This can lead to injuries.
- The product contains small parts. Small
parts can block the airways and pose a
choking hazard. Therefore, make sure
that they are always kept out of the
reach of children.
- The nebuliser system is only suitable for
use by patients who can breathe
unassisted and are conscious. This is
the only way to ensure effective treat-
ment and avoid choking.
