6. Frost Protection

Important!
Plants without frost protection have to be shut down in case
of frost. Shut-down in case of frost see Chapter B.7.1.
The fub-zero temperature protection arrangement consists of:
n heat insulation
n hot-air blower
n Antifreezing circulation
n External thermostat
n Burner blower fan.

Important!
If the unit is equipped with frost protection the following
features are guaranteed:
n unrestricted wash operation up to –5 °C
n restricted wash operation below –5 °C.
In case of restricted wash operation all brushes must be
controlled regularly if they freeze up. Foam wash with
frozen brush can cause damages to the vehicle. If the
foam brush is frozen the combi-lance has to be replaced
by a high-pressure lance. Should the wash operation be
extended up to lower temperatures please contact your
after-sales service. From –15 °C on the wash operation
does not make sense any more since on the vehicle, a
icy ply is set up. Under some circumstances, this icy ply
can even inhibit important vehicle parts in their function.
For this reason avoid operation of the plant at –15 °C or
less by switch on position "shut-down operation".
n Frost protection of the plant up to –20 °C. At less that
–20 °C carry out "shut-down in case of frost" (see
Chapter B.7.1).
Caution!
Danger of accident through formation of glazed frost.
In case of slippery ice the plant must be closed in order to
avoid accidents.

Important!
Preconditions for this frost protection are:
n Electricity and water supply must be guaranteed without
interruption. The water supply has to be frost protected.
n Mounting and installation had to be effectuated as
described in Capter I.
n The hot-air blower is adjusted correctly (see 6.1)
n All maintenance tasks had been carried out correctly
according to Chapter E.
