Improper use
WARNING:
Improper use can create dangerous conditions and cause
personal injuries and damage to property.
Improper product use can make the warranty void.
Examples of improper use:
Liquids not compatible with the pump construction materials
Potable liquids other than water (for example, wine or milk)
Liquids that are generated by gases that are not classified as IIB
explosion group as listed in Annex B of IEC 60079-20-1:2010.
Examples of improper installation:
Areas where the air temperature is very high and/or there is poor
ventilation
Outdoor installations where there is no protection against rain or
freezing temperatures
NOTICE:
Do not use this pump to handle liquids containing abrasive, solid,
or fibrous substances.
Do not pump liquids containing abrasive, solid, or fibrous
substances.
Do not use the pump for flow rates above or below the flow rates
specified on the data plate.
Make sure that the liquid inside the pump does not freeze or
crystallise.
The pumped liquid must be chemically and mechanically non
aggressive.
The auto-ignition temperature of the pumped liquid must be ≥ 50°C
(122°F) at the maximum surface temperature T4.
Special applications
In case of variable speed drive (VSD) application, contact Xylem or the
Authorised Distributor.

3.2 Operating limits

WARNING:
All motors, supplied by XYLEM or mounted by the customer's
after-sales service, must have an axially locked bearing on
the right side.

3.3 Data plate

The data plate is a metal label that is located on the adaptor. The data
plate lists key product specifications. For more information, see
The data plate provides information regarding the material of the gasket
and the mechanical seal For information about how to interpret the code
on the data plate and how to interpret the ATEX adhesive label, see

and for an example.

4 Installation

Precautions
WARNING:
Observe the accident prevention regulations in force.
Use suitable equipment and protective material.
Always refer to the local and/or national regulations,
legislation, and codes in force regarding the selection of
the installation site, plumbing, and power connections.
ELECTRICAL HAZARD:
Have all the connections made by qualified installers in
compliance with the regulations in force.
Before attempting to use the unit, check that it is
unplugged and that the unit and the control panel cannot
restart, even unintentionally. This applies to the control
circuit as well.
Grounding (earthing)
ELECTRICAL HAZARD:
Always connect the external protective conductor to the
ground terminal before attempting to make any other
electrical connections.
Connect all the electrical accessories of the pump unit
and motor to the ground.
Check that all the grounding points are at the same
potential.
Check that the ground lead is connected.
If the pump body and/or the motor adapter are painted,
they must both be grounded.
If the motor cable is jerked loose by mistake, the earth
(ground) conductor should be the last conductor to
come loose from its terminal. Make sure that the earth
(ground) conductor is longer than the phase conductors.
This applies to both ends of the motor cable.
Add additional protection against lethal shock. Install a
high-sensitivity differential switch (30 mA).
4.1 Motor (ATEX classification)
The pump without the motor is suitable for:
ambient temperature between -10°C (+14°F) and +55°C (+131°F)
gas temperature class of T4 (+135°C = +275°F)
gas explosion group of IIC
When you purchase a motor, check its ATEX classification and combine
it with the classification of the pump.
Here some examples for informational purposes only.

-
Pump: -10°C to +55°C (+14°F to +131°F)
-
Motor: 0°C to +40°C (+32°F to +104°F)
-
