B) Instructions for use
URREA Electric Chain Hoist has been designed
and manufactured in order to hoist and lower
loads, and will be used in accordance with the
following conditions:
-The hois will be used in environments, or
atmospheres, that are under no danger of
explosion or fire, and in environments that do
not demand special hygiene regulations.
-If the chain hoist is to be used outdoors, we
recommend that it is covered with a small roof,
which will protect it sufficiently against
bad weather conditions.
-The chain hoist will be used as a maximum,
during the time established on a daily basis on
the table described on page 4. When the daily
operating time goes beyond the established
period, according to the way it is used and the
FEM Group that it belongs to, the life expectancy
of the chain hoist will be proportionally reduced.
-Before using the hoist block, the daily inspection
indicated in some page must be carried out.
-The chain hoist will be used in such a way that

-The hoist will be used under extreme
precautions when manipulating dangerous
loads (molten metal, objects seized by means
of electromagnets, etc.), alerting the personnel
surronding the area in order that they take the
necessary precautions, and using the slowest
speed, when the hoist has two speeds.
-In the event that the hoist counts on two sides,
the cargo gin will be positioned in such a way
that the chain is completely straight (without
knots or twists). The user must make sure that
the chain does not twist when involuntarily
passing the hook over the straightened out by
passing the cargo gin over the chain loop in the
reverse order.
-When two or more chain hoists are used
simultaneously to manipulate loads, a balanced
distribution of the load must be applied to each
hoist, in such a way that this does not exceed the
load indicated on the identification plate of each
chain hoist.
-The hoist will be disconnected from the general
protection device against shortcuts, when the
working day is over.
C) Possible Abnormal Situations
If it was necessary to stop the chain hoist for some
circumstance, pulse the switch or pushbutton of
red color of the control system that it acts as
STOP OF EMERGENCY.
-Overloads can take place in the electric hoist for
the following reasons.
•Unknown weight of the load.
•Collision of the load against some obstacle.
•Simultaneous action of two hoists with
uneven load distribution, etc.
•Try to disembend it., etc.
- URREA Electric Chain Hoist are equipped with
an overload Limiter, adjusted at the factory,
which prevents hoisting and lowering of the
load when this goes beyond the limit of 20% of
the rated load of the chain hoist.
-Failures in the electricity supply may take place
