directly with the manufacturer, to agree upon
the best means for forwarding the complete
chain hoist for its repair.
14. HOISTING ACCESORIES
(TOOLS TO BE IMPLEMENTED)
Hoisting accesories may be user (to allow load
grasping), such as slings, grips, electromagnetics,
etc. Before proceeding to lift, check that
instructions for the safe runing of the chain hoist,
indicated on paragraph B, are being followed.
15. NOISE ISSUED BY ELECTRIC
HOIST
The overhead noise issued by the electric chain
hoist, when working at full load is measured
at 70db. It is not necessary to take special
precautions, for installation and assembly, for
reducing the noise level and vibrations that may
occur due to the operation of the electric chain
hoist.
16. MAINTENANCE TABLE
INSPECTION
ASPECT TO BE EXAMINED
1. Performance of break.
2. Performance of the load limiter.
3. Condition of the load hook.
4. Load chain (frequent inspection)
Clean and lubricate load chain.
5. Load chain (periodic inspection).
6. Chain securing points.
7. Lubricate the dent of the rollers
and pinions of trolley traction
(trolley chain hoist).
8. Control system, electric
connectors and cables.
9. Greasing the cargo gin (2 sided
chain hoists).
10. Oil level.
11. Suspension hook.
* The first time, 3 months after installing the chain hoist.

17. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM: Chain hoist and/or load do not move
CAUSES
No power.
Discontinuity:
-in the input cable.
-in the pushbutton cable.
Voltage drop.
Overload.
PROBLEM: Hoist moves with difficulty and/or
load does too
CAUSES
Motor is connected to incorrect
voltage.
Load limiter slipping.
PROBLEM: Load slips
CAUSES
Motor brake pad is worn.
Limiter friction disc is worn.
INTERVALS
PROBLEM: Coupling of chain to the nut is
noisy
CAUSES
Wear or oxidation of the chain.

SOLUTION
Check main connection on switchboard.
Check discontinuity of input cable
and of hose, specially in places which
are subject to permanent bending or
twisting and repair or substitute cable.
Check voltage supply with a voltemeter
and check cable.
Check weight of load.
SOLUTION
Connect motor terminals to
correct voltage.
Adjust clutch.
SOLUTION
Inspect and adjust motor brake.
Regulate clutch.
SOLUTION
Inspect and substitute chain.
SOLUTION
Correct angle.
Clean beam.
SOLUTION
Remove external objects or
dry electric components of the
chain hoist.
SOLUTION
Tighten lid.
