Do not store the chain hoist in a humid place.
Packing allows the safe transport and packing of
the chain hoist.
8. INSTALLATION, ASSEMBLY
AND DISASSEMBLY
8.1. Pre-Installation Verifications
Before installing the chain hoist, carry out the
following checks:
1. Check that, after transport, the chain hoist
and its parts that are visible externally are in
good condition.
2. Check that all tie down systems are firm and
secure.
3. Check that all external cabling is in good
condition.
4. Check that the loading chain is correctly
position (without knots or twists) and that it
has been lubricated.
8.2. Installation
The chain hoist is placed on a fixed position,
hanging or suspended from a support element,
located over the spot where the work is to be
carried out.
In order to install the chain hoist, please follow
these instructions:
1. Check that the suspension, or support
element, where the chain hoist is suspended
from, offers the adequate resistance and
stability from, offers the adequate resistance
and stability for the correct operation of the
chain hoist.
2. Introduce the higher hook through the
suspension element, gently pushing the
same to enable the safety tab to allow
introduction, and to immediately return to
its original position.
3. Carry out electric connection following
instructions.
8.3. Verification Post-installation.
Before initial start up of the URREA electric
chain hoist, or after it has been at a standstill
for a long time, check all points indicated on the
maintenance table.
Also lift the hook (unloaded) up to its highest

position, and then to its lowest position, taking
care that the clutch does not skid excessively, and
check that performance is smoot and does not
make abnormal noises.
8.4. Disassembly
In order to carry out disassembly of the chain
hoist, carry out the following steps:
1. Make sure chain hoist is unloaded.
2. Switch off the chain hoist from the general
protection against short circuits.
3. Reverse the order of the instructions for the
process of electric connection.
4. Follow instructions in the reverse order for
the installation process.
9. MAINTENANCE
The user must keep this device in perfect
state, make sure it is used in accordance with
stipulated conditions of use, must monitor the
same at all times, and carry out maintenance
tasks in accordance with the instructions issued
in this manual, and to ensure that all repair jobs
are carried out by qualified personnel.
The user mus comply with UNE-58-529-88,
on lifting calibrated chains, directives for the
utilization and maintenance, equivalent to ISO
7592-1983.
It also, must comply the UNE-58-919-95 Standard,
on measures to take to determine the periods of
operation of the motorized hoists. According to
this Standard, the Electric Chain Hoists will be
inspected and certified by a qualified person of
agreement with the intervals speciefied by the
maker and registered in a control book.
The log book for the electric chain hoist (no
supplied by the manufacturer) must contain, at
least, information related to:
Periodic inspections, indicating date, results
obtained; adjustments that have been carried
out, indicating date, adjustments; renewal
of componenets, indicating date, repair or
important modifications that have taken place;
and important repairs or changes, indicating
date, and important repairs or changes made.
Indicating in all this cases the name and position
of qualified person who has undertaken each
repair, and company thath he belongs to.
