appropriate direction.
2. Before proceeding to hoist, check the
following:
a) The hoisting device is used in accordance with
instructions indicated by the manufacturer
with respect to: conditions of use, assembly
maintenance and limits of use.
b) The load, or the hoisting accessory, after
having gone through the safety catch, is
correctly situated on the base of the hook,
and on over the point of the hook.
CORRECT
c) The chain hoist is located vertically over the
load.
d) The load will be elevated free from supports,
and that
there are no obstacles to be lifted.
3. Do not use the hoist chain as a sling. When
necessary, use the appropriate hoisting device
(sling, etc.).
4. Before moving the load, when a load is to be
INCORRECT
hoisted with a sling, the hook must be previously
elevated until the sling becomes taught.
5. The operator must start moving for a load,
only after he has checked that the load is
securely fastened, that the path is free, and that
the danger area is free from people.
6. The chain hoist operator must be located
in accordance with instructions described in
Paragraph 4 of this manual (location that the
operator must occupy).
7. Carry out maneuvers gently. Avoid brusque
movements and changes of movement.
8. The chain hoist will not be used for side thrust,
disembeding, not for pulling loads.
9. Do not allow the load to swing. Should the
load swing, stop pressing the push button
control wihich has caused the load swing.
10. Do not leave loads suspending from the
chain hoist, without supervision.
11. Do not stand directly under the load, nor
allow anyone to do this.
12. The chain hoist will be used to manipulate
loads in such a way that the load does not collide
nor come into contact with any persons or object
which are at a standstill, or moving.
13. Avoid overelevation and overlowering.
The clutch must not be indiscriminately used
to limit the travel of the hook in the top or
lower position. In order to limit the position
at intermediate level, in automatic, or semi
automatic manufacturing processes, electric end
of stroke mechanisms must be incorporated.
14. When descending, without a load, do not
allow the hook to touch the floor or any other
obstacle.
15. Always be alert for the following:
a) Irregular movment of the chain hoist in any
direction.
b) Excessive noise: this can indicate the
presence, or the onset of a failure.
NOTE: When any of the above cases should occur,
stop the chain hoist immediately. Do not use the
same until a qualified person has inspected it.
7. MANIPULATION OR
MAINTENANCE
The electric chain hoist, du to its size, reduced
weight and size, may be manipulated and
transported manually, safely and easily.
In order to get to know the weight and main
dimensions of your electric cahin hoist see the
specification table.
