6.2 Description of the product

6.2.1 Pressure boosting system, see Fig. 1 No.:

NOTE:
Every pump has gate valves on the suction side
and gate valves and non-return valves on the
pressure side.
6.2.2 Switchgear
• Ensures safe operation of the pressure boosting
system.
• IP 54 protection.
• Thermal protection factory-set according to the
nominal current of the motors, as noted on the
rating plate of the motors.
• Other safety devices and the main switch for the
pressure boosting system.

Electronic operating board:
1. LED indicator for "Voltage switched on"
2. LED indicator for "Operation per pump"
3. LED indicator for "Fault per pump"
4. Rocker switch per pump with 3 functions:
Manual mode – 0 – Automatic mode.

Two pressure switches permit the two pumps to
be activated and deactivated automatically.
1. Adjusting screw for switch-off pressure
(upper switching point).
2. Adjusting screw for pressure difference (lower
switching point).

6.2.4 Protection against low-water level
The pressure boosting system must be equipped
with protection against low water level.
When connected directly to the municipal water
supply network: install a pressure switch in the
inlet pipe and connect it in the switchgear (Fig. 5 -
1 and 2).
When connected to a break tank: install a float
switch in the break tank and connect it in the
switchgear (Fig. 5 - 1 and 2).

6.3 Function of the product

6.3.1 Operation
Automatic operation of the pressure boosting
system is performed by the switchgear.
• When the pressure drops and the set value for
pressure switch P1 is reached, pump 1 switches
on.
• If the pressure drops further and the set value for
P2 is reached, pump 2 switches on.
• When the pressure rises and the set value for
pressure switch P2 is reached, pump 2 is stopped.
• If the set value for pressure switch P1 is reached,
pump 1 is stopped.
• Pump cycling is applied when the pumps are reac-
tivated.
If the control module (Fig. 6) fails, it can be
replaced by the bypass control module (Fig. 7) in
order to ensure emergency operation.
In this case, pump cycling no longer takes place;
pressure switch 1 always controls pump 1 and
pressure switch 2 always controls pump 2.
Pump cycling
To keep the loading and operating time of all
pumps at an even level, the sequence of activated
pumps is altered cyclically every time the base-
load pump is deactivated.
Operating mode
A rocker switch on the front side with 3 positions
(Fig. 2, No. 4) allows the selection of 3boperating
modes per pump:
