External IR Receiver Connections
Use a standard IR Receiver such as ATON's AIR5 or
AIR6 in areas where a hand-held remote needs to
be pointed somewhere other than at the Touch Pad.
Typical IR Receiver locations are near a TV or other
equipment such as a Local Source (DVD Player, CD
Player, A/V Receiver, etc.). Use a Cat-5 wire to extend
the IR Receiver's cable if necessary and connect
the other end to the DHTP1 as shown in Figure 3.5.
Only three conductors of the Cat-5 will be used. The
DHTP1's internal IR Receiver may be disabled to al-
low the external IR receiver to function as the primary
one, see Page 27 for details.
