5.2.1. Multimeter configuration

Any command sent to the multimeter must be compatible with:
- the multimeter model connected (see the multimeter User's manual)
- the position of the switch at the time that the command is sent.
The list of all available fonctions by instrument and by switch position is given in
Appendix III
For example, programming RMS mode will only be possible if the switch is on V
or in "current" position. It is meaningless if the switch is on the Ω position.
