Testing and Brake Evaluation
The drop test method used depends on the type of equipment at the service center. The full Merit Program
includes a special tripod with a load cell and data acquisition system. The Merit Lite Program includes a
tripod with a special snaphook designed to deploy an indicator at a specific force. Use the flow chart below
to access the brake and proceed to the appropriate section on the next page if a drop test is required.
NOTE:
Unlike many MSA SRLs, after the product is serviced and is ready for return to the customer,
a follow-up drop test is not needed.
