Internal Subassembly

(1)
When replacing the internal subassembly refer to section 2 Exploded Views of this manual.

Assemble nozzle onto cable assembly.
(3)
Apply grease onto ends of center of shaft.
(4)
With drum in fixture, flip the lower frame assembly over and place onto center shaft.
(5)
Ensure the power spring center tab slides into slot at end of shaft.
(6)
Install snap ring onto shaft.
(7)
Wind the power spring.
Winding the power spring on 30ft (9m) SRL:
Cut the tie for the power spring.
Place hand on the frame and turn clock-
wise 7 to 8 times.
Attach nozzle to frame with 2 M4 self-
tapping screws. The power spring is now
contained.

Ensure nozzle orientation is correct. Cable should lay across piece with large opening. Apply grease
on cam surface of drum before installing the upper frame assembly.

Apply grease on cam surface of drum before installing the upper frame assembly.
(10) Remove assembly from fixture and install upper frame assembly by holding pawls apart with your
fingers to ensure they seat correctly against sperrad side plate.
(11) Install snap ring onto shaft.
(12) Tighten M4 bolts and nuts so frame halves are connected.
(13) Attach upper frame to nozzle with 2 self-tapping screws.
On 30ft (9m) SRL:
Attach plastic nozzle to frame with 2 M4
self-tapping screws.
NOTE:
Pull line in and out of unit and complete a lock up test.

Labels

If a new front variable label is required, record information from old label and create new label with
laser etcher.
(2)
If information cannot be read, it is possible to find the variable fields on the fieldID website (see
section 8 Replacing the RFID of this manual).
(3)
If your facility does not have a laser etching machine, contact MSA Jacksonville Service Center for
printed labels.
Winding the power spring on 50ft (15m) SRL:
Cut the tie for the power spring.
Place hand on the frame and turn clock-
wise 9 to 10 times.
Attach metal nozzle to frame with 1 normal
M4 screw. The power spring is now
contained.
Attach plastic nozzle to frame with 1 M4
self-tapping screw.
On 50ft (15m) SRL:
Attach metal nozzle to frame with 1 normal
M4 screw.
Attach plastic nozzle to frame with 1 M4
self-tapping screw.
