1. Statement of dual-number noise emission values in accordance with EN ISO 4871.
Values determined according to Annex B of EN 13204 using the basic standards EN ISO 3744
and EN ISO 11201.
Note the sum of a measured noise emission value and its associated uncertainty represents
an upper bound of the range of values which occur in measurements.

Preparation for first use
4.1
General
•
Check the equipment for completeness and damage. Do not use the equipment if it is damaged; in
that case contact the Holmatro dealer.
•
Check that the pressure relief tool is present.
•
Check that the bottle of engine oil has been supplied.
•
Check that the spark plug spanner is present.
•
Make sure the pump is in a horizontal position.
4.2
Engine oil
When delivered, the pump does not have any engine oil in it.
CAUTION
Never attempt to start the engine without engine oil.
CAUTION
Use only good quality engine oil with the correct specifications, that is suitable for four-stroke
engines with SG or SF classification and that has the correct viscosity.
•
Check that the viscosity of the engine oil supplied corresponds with the temperature range of the
working environment (Fig. 4).
•
Remove the screw (Fig. 5/1) and remove the service panel (Fig. 5/2) from the pump.
•
Remove the dipstick (Fig. 6/1).
•
Add engine oil through the opening (Fig. 6/2) up to the maximum level (Fig. 7/1).
•
Install the dipstick and tighten it firmly.
•
Put back the service panel on the pump and fasten it with the screw (Fig. 5/1).
4.3
Hydraulic oil
CAUTION
Use hydraulic oil with the correct specifications and make sure no dirt or dust enters the
hydraulic tank to prevent damage to the pump and tools.
•
Check the level of the hydraulic oil in the tank through the indicator (Fig. 2/7). If necessary, remove
the hydraulic filler cap (Fig. 2/3) and add hydraulic oil via the filler opening to the maximum level
mark.
•
Remove the instruction label from the filler cap (Fig. 2/3) and set the oil cap in the de-aerate position
by turning the inside section with a screwdriver, as explained on the instruction label.
