3. Check the fill/level plug (A, Figure 35) on the chain case
(B) for damage. If signs of wear or cracks are visible,
replace with a new plug.
4. To check lubricant in the chain case, remove the fill/level
plug and look for lubricant on the internal components of
the chain case. If no lubricant is visible, add transmission
grease as needed.

Engine Maintenance
Change the Engine Oil
1. Run the engine until warm.
2. Place the rider on a level surface.
3. Stop the engine and remove the key.
4. Clean the oil fill and filter areas of any debris.
5. Remove the dipstick and lay on a clean cloth.
6. Disconnect the oil drain hose (A, Figure 36).

7. Carefully remove the cap (B, Figure 36) and lower the
hose into an approved container (C).
8. After the oil has drained, install the cap tightly, then attach
the hose to the side of the engine.
9. Remove the oil filter (B, Figure 37) and dispose of
properly.
