STEP 3: Assigning Zones To Programs A or B
• Select the desired watering program by moving the PGM (Program) switch
to the A or B position for each zone.
Note: If a zone is not used, it's PGM switch should be placed in the OFF
position.
STEP 4: Setting Program Start Times
A program start time is the time of day you select to begin an automatic pro-
gram watering cycle. Sometimes it is necessary to run a watering cycle more
than one time per day, for example, when growing a new lawn. The controller
has the ability to start a watering cycle up to four times per day for Program A
and four times per day for Program B. Program start times are numbered 1– 4.
These numbers are shown on the left of the display as shown below.
Refer to the following guidelines when programming the start times:
• A start time (START A or START B) activates a watering cycle, not an indi-
vidual zone.
• A program requires only one start time to operate automatically.
• When a program starts, each zone assigned to the program will water in
numerical order, one at a time for its set run time.
• Enough time should be provided between program start times to allow all
zones assigned to the program to be watered. If a start time produces a
watering cycle that runs beyond the next start time, the controller will delay
the next start time(s) to allow completion of the previous watering cycle.
• If an overlap in watering time occurs, program A start time(s) take priority
over program B start time(s).
• If a start time produces a watering cycle that runs past midnight, any other
start times programmed to start before midnight will be cancelled.
• Start times occur according to the time of day programmed to water, and
not by the start time numbers (1–4). For example, START 1 of program A
may actually be the last watering time of the day if programmed to occur at
11:00 p.m., and START 4 of program A may be the first watering time of the
day if programmed to water at 5:00 a.m.
