SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Measuring Instrument
To avoid electrical shock: Use only for tests on 60V Cat II DC
circuits. Do not use to test AC current.
Do not make tests on non‑insulated conductors.
Transformer jaw tips are designed not to short the circuit under
test. If equipment under test has exposed conductive parts,
however, extra precaution should be taken to minimize the
possibility of shorting.
Check meter functionality on a known circuit first. Never
assume meter is working. Assume circuits are live until they
can be proven de‑energized.
Never open the battery cover during a measurement.
The instrument is to be used only in its intended applications or
conditions. Otherwise, safety functions equipped with the
instrument doesn't work, and instrument damage or serious
personal injury may be caused.
To reduce the risk of injury from shock and arc blasts, always
wear personal protective equipment where live conductors are
exposed.
Verify proper operation on a known source before use or taking
action as a result of the indication of the instrument.
Do not use with the battery cover removed.
Do not attempt to make measurement in the presence of
flammable gasses. Otherwise, the use of the instrument may
cause sparking, which can lead to an explosion.
Never attempt to use the instrument if its surface or your hand
is wet. Do not exceed the maximum allowable input of any
measuring range.
Do not ground yourself while measuring. Avoid body contact
with earthed or grounded sur‑ faces such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators.
Never attempt to make measurement if any abnormal
conditions, such as broken case and exposed metal parts are
found on the instrument.
Do not install substitute parts or make any modification to the
instrument. For repair or re‑ calibration, return the meter to a
factory Service/Sales Support Branch or authorized service
station.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including

not play with the tool.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Battery
This tool is designed to be powered by 2 AA batteries properly
inserted into the instrument. Do not attempt to use with any
other voltage or power supply.
Do not leave batteries within the reach of children.
Do not mix new and used batteries. Do not mix brands (or
types within brands) of batteries.
Do not mix rechargeable and non‑rechargeable batteries.
Install batteries according to polarity (+ / –) diagrams.
Properly dispose of used batteries immediately.
Battery acid may leak from damaged batteries under extreme
load or extreme temperatures. In case of contact with battery
acid wash it off immediately with soap and water. In case of eye
contact rinse thoroughly for at least 10 minutes and
immediately seek medical attention.
Do not try to replace the batteries if the surface of the
instrument is wet.
Disconnect all the cords and cables from the object under test
and power off the instrument before opening the battery cover
for battery replacement.
Do not incinerate or dismantle batteries.
SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE
The Measuring Instrument can be used for following
measurements: Current DC. This instrument may only use for
measuring the previously indicated measurements.

ZERO Button
Always press the ZERO button before clamping around a
conductor. Pressing the ZERO button removes the residual DC
current offset to ensure a more accurate reading.
HOLD Button
Press the HOLD button to freeze the reading. The reading will
be held regardless of subsequent variation in input. HOLD is
displayed with the reading. To exit Hold mode, press the HOLD
button again.
Sleep Mode
The display will turn off about 5 minutes after the last button
operation to conserve battery life. Press any button to turn the
display back on.
Auto Power Off
The meter will completely power off about 15 minutes after the
last button operation to conserve battery life.

MEASURING
1. Remove the clamp from the clamp storage pocket.
2. Press the button to turn on the meter. Always press the
button before placing the clamp around a conductor to

take a new measurement.
3. Keep fingers behind tactile barrier.
4. Open the jaws and clamp them around the conductor under
test.
NOTE: Do not clamp over more than one wire at a time.
Irregular results will occur.
5. The reading is displayed. A negative number indicates
current flow in the opposite direction of the arrows on the
clamp.
6. Press the button to turn off the meter. Remove the jaws
from the conductor.

CAUTION! Maximum conductor size is 6 mm diameter.
During measurement, keep the jaws fully closed to ensure
accurate measurements.

Use only Milwaukee accessories and Milwaukee spare parts.
Should components need to be replaced which have not been
described, please contact one of our Milwaukee service agents
(see our list of guarantee/service addresses).
