Application
The MSA AUER SSR 30/100 is a self-contained
respiratory protection device for self-rescue. The
apparatus is housed in a sturdy stainless steel
container which can be worn continuously on the
belt, so that it is available immediately. The
container may be opened only in an emergency
situation. Then the rescuer can be donned in
seconds and protects the wearer against
contaminants of all kinds and oxygen deficiency.
The SSR 30/100 meets the requirements
according to EN 401/20 S.

Functioning
The Oxygen Self-Rescuer MSA AUER SSR 30/100
supplies the wearer with oxygen which is
generated from a chemical (KO
and humidity of the exhalation air react with the
chemical. This reaction removes these compo-
nents of the exhalation air and generates the oxy-
gen, according to the demand of the wearer.

The design and air flow [inhalation (a) / exhalation
(b)] are shown schematically in Fi . 1. The appara-
tus consists of the following main components:
