MAINTENANCE: Periodically clean the Glyder 2 Sliding Beam Anchor using water and a mild soap solution. Do
not use acids or other caustic chemicals that could damage the system components. A lubricant may be applied
to the release tab/locking pawl. When the wear pads are worn to a point where the hook ends will be in direct
contact with the beam flange, they must be replaced. Replace the wear pads by removing the screws and lock
nuts securing them in place. Discard the old wear pads along with the old screws and lock nuts.
INSPECTION: Figure 4 illustrates the location of the i-Safe™ RFID tag (K). The i-Safe RFID tag can be used in
conjunction with the i-Safe handheld reading device and web based portal to simplify inspection and inventory
control and provide records for your fall protection equipment.
BEFORE EACH USE: Inspect the Glyder 2 Sliding Beam Anchor according to the following steps.
IMPORTANT: If this equipment has been subject to fall arrest forces it must be removed from service and
destroyed, or returned to Capital Safety for inspection or repair.
Step 1.
Inspect The Glyder 2 Sliding Beam Anchor for damage: Look for cracks, dents, or deformities. Look
for bending or wear on the support bar, and hook ends. Ensure no parts are missing (fasteners,
labels, etc.).
Step 2.
Inspect the wear pads to ensure that they have not worn to a point where the hook ends will be in
direct contact with the bam flange. Replace the wear pads according to the maintanance section.

Step 3.
Ensure the release tabs/locking pawls move freely and springs automatically into engagement with
the bar teeth. Inspect the support bar teeth for wear or damage. Ensure that the locking pawl will
fully engage each tooth automatically upon release of the release tab.
Step 4.
Inspect labels. All product information labels must be present and fully legible.
Step 5.
Record the inspection date and results in the Periodic Examination and Repair History in the General
Instructions for Use and Maintenance (5902392) or use the i-Safe inspection web portal to maintain
inspection records.
ANNUALLY: The Glyder 2 Sliding Beam Anchor must be formally inspected by a competent person
the user at least annually. Record the results in the Periodic Examination and Repair History in the General
Instructions for Use and Maintenance (5902392) or use the i-Safe inspection web portal to maintain inspection
records.
IF INSPECTION REVEALS AN UNSAFE OR DEFECTIVE CONDITION: Remove the unit from service and
destroy or return to Capital Safety for repair.
