4.6.4.2 TDS Measuring
When measure high TDS, conductive electrode with big cell constant is usually be adopted,
When TDS ≥ 10.00g/L, you must adopt the electrode with electrode constant 5 or 10.
Before measure TDS, you must refer to chapter 'Selection of Conductive Electrode' to confirm the
conductive electrode to be used in measuring, set suitable electrode constant, temperature
compensation coefficient and TDS switching coefficient. If you need to calibrate the electrode,
you should also calibrate electrode constant under conductivity measuring parameter. You should
note that under TDS measuring parameter, you can only calibrate TDS switching coefficient.
Under start mode, if you have already selected conductive measuring mode parameter, such as
conductivity parameter, you can start measuring directly. Otherwise, you should enter into 'Setup
Measuring Mode', select conductive measuring unit to measure. (Please refer to 'Setup
Measuring Mode' for details).
For the display, measuring procedure and operating, please refer to chapter 'conductivity
measuring'.
4.6.4.1.1 Calibrate TDS Factor
Select suitable standard solution according to the character and measuring range of measured
solution. For the relationship between TDS standard solution and conductivity, please see chart 4.
a. Press '＞'beside main measuring window, switch measuring status to conductivity measuring.
Under conductivity measuring status, set conductive electrode constant properly through view
conductive using parameter or re-calibrate conductive electrode constant through calibrate
conductive electrode. When it is finished, press '＞' to enter into TDS measuring mode.
b. Wash the conductive electrode with distilled water.
c. Insert conductive electrode into standard solution. Control solution's temperature as (25.0 ±
0.1)
d. Press 'SETUP' key, input relevant figure in chart 4, i.e. present standard solution's TDS value.
e. When reading figure stable, you can press 'ENTER' key, meter will automatically calculate
new TDS factor, calibration finishes. Press 'END', meter stops the calibration of TDS factor.
