Media coupler / area coupler mode
In media coupler mode the device provides the physical
connection between a Powernet EIB system and a
Twisted Pair system. The transmission of telegrams
between a Powernet system and a Twisted Pair system
is indicated by brief flashing of the associated transmis-
sion / reception LED (see device design, items 3, 4).
When a telegram is received, the associated LED lights
up green. When the system coupler transmits a tele-
gram, the LED lights up red.
In area coupler mode the device provides the physical
connection between several Powernet EIB systems.
Each of the connected areas must have its own system
coupler. The system coupler must be connected using a
Twisted Pair bus cable (TP Backbone).
In media coupler or area coupler mode the device is
used as a line coupler as shown in the basic circuit
diagrams.
