19. INTERFACE RS-232

19.1 DESCRIPTION OF THE PIN

2 - TXD - - - the scale transmits data.
3 - RXD - - - the scale receives data.
5 - GRD - - - ground signal.
Note: CTS signal modes are not used. The peripheral must have a minimum buffer (15 characters).
We recommend that the cable length be 15 metres and that the load impedance of the connected equipment be between 3000
and 7000 ohms with no more than 2500 pf capacity in parallel.

20. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING

20.1 TROUBLESHOOTING

Only qualified professionals can carry out repairs to the scale. Serious risks may be incurred if the scale is
repaired by unqualified personnel.

20.2 CLEANING

- Turn off the scale and disconnect all cables.
- Avoid spilling liquids into the scale.
- Do not use corrosive cleaners (solvents) under any circumstances.
- Clean the scale with a soft cloth.
- Before cleaning the scale, remove the pan, pan support and ring to prevent damage to the weighing system.

20.3 CLEANING THE STAINLESS STEEL SURFACE

All stainless steel components need to be cleaned regularly. Remove the weighing pan and clean it with a
soft cloth or sponge. We recommend using a special cleaner for stainless steel. Clean the stainless steel
surface of the scale and
then the weighing pan. Make sure there is no dirt before drying the scale with air. If necessary, smear the
stainless steel surface with a special oil as additional protection.

20.4 SAFETY REVIEW

If the scale is not working properly:
• Disconnect it from the network immediately, and keep it out of use.
• Keep it in a safe place and do not use it for the time being.
• Contact the Technical Service or your Distributor for repair.

• 1 start bit.
• 8 data bits include parity.
• 1 stop bit
