2 Product Description

2.1 Designated Use

The DAV wire-cutting device is used in industry and in the trade for the robot
MIG/MAG inert gas welding. The DAV is used when the welding wire must
be cut off at the free end, such as when: cutting off the weld bead or oxide layer
for improving the ignition characteristics, torch neck change in the ATS rotor
including wire extraction, using seam-tracking sensors and TCP measuring
devices. These operating instructions only describe the wire-cutting device
DAV. The DAV wire cutting device may only be operated using original
ABICOR BINZEL spare parts.

Wire cutting device DAV
Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Annex II A, 1B for
part-machines
The part-machine DAV wire cutting device may not be put into operation until it has
been established that the machine it is to be built into complies with the regulations
of the Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery) if this directive is to apply to this
machine. If required, the user also has to ensure that the machine complies with the
EC Directory 2004/108/EC (EMC).
The wire cutting device DAV is designed for automatic use. The wire cutting
device forms part of the welding system and may only be operated in it.
Designated use also includes the observance of the prescribed operating,
maintenance and servicing instructions.
