Note: In the case of thigh amputations, determine the required length of the silicone liner and shorten it using the
trimming tool
Check for possible air inclusion once the silicone liner is fitted!
If the end of the residual limb has pronounced fissures so that the skin does not contact the silicone liner evenly,
please use our silicone pads to prevent any air inclusions in the distal area. Select the appropriate silicone pad to
match the size of the TTm / TFm pop line silicone liners.
Why is it particularly important that the silicone lining fit correctly?:
If there are air bubbles, sweat can condense and cause skin irritations caused by glucose salt amino acids,
subsequently leading to macerations (softening of the skin, leading to inflammation).
REMOVING THE SILICONE LINER
Step 1: (Figure 3a)
Fold the silicone liner over at the top edge.
Step 2: (Figure 3b)
Now push the liner downwards slowly and evenly.
Important: Make sure that any existing wound protection is not damaged when removing the silicone liner.
Step 3: (Figure 3c)
Every time that you remove the silicone liner, thoroughly clean it. It is absolutely necessary that you use gloves for
this.
CLEANING THE SILICONE LINER
Before using the silicone liner for the first time and each time that you remove it, thoroughly clean it. If the silicone
liner has already been worn by patients, use gloves for the cleaning process.
Step 1: (Figure 4a)
Take the silicone liner out of the box and turn it inside out. Rub the inside thoroughly using a mild soap. Then
thoroughly rinse the inside with hot water.
Step 2:
Now turn the liner inside out again, and thoroughly rub the outside with a mild soap and then rinse it with hot
water.
Step 3: (Figure 4b)
Then place the silicone liner on the included drying rack to let it dry – e.g. overnight.
Important: The TTm/TFm pop silicone liner is suitable for use by several patients. This requires the
implementation of and strict adherence to the cleaning procedure specified by the manufacturer. You should
coordinate the cleaning procedures with the responsible health officer at your clinic. Before reusing the silicone
liner with a new patient, it is essential that you perform the following cleaning steps:
Step 1: (Figure 5a)
Use an instrument disinfectant (Braun Helipur or Schuhmacher Descotan) with cold water.
Step 2: (Figure 5b)
Place the silicone liner in the water bath so that it is completely covered and there are no air bubbles.
Step 3: (Figure 5c)
Wait until the application time specified by the disinfectant manufacturer has elapsed.
Step 4: (Figure 5d)
