8.3 Connection of Argon
!
The HBS Argon Module can work with gas from a cylinder as well as with gas from a gas transmission
system
Use of gas cylinders
•
Secure the gas cylinder (A) with the provided fixture (B)
•
Do NOT remove the Identification label
•
Mount an original HEBU pressure relief valve HEBU (C) at the
gas cylinder (article number: HF 9530-02)
Caution!
The gas cylinders can only be connected to the HBS Argon with
original valves and connecting hoses.
•
Connect the hose (A) of gas cylinder 1 to connection
point 1 (21) and the gas pressure measurement line (B)
from the valve to terminal 22.
•
Connect the hose (C) of gas cylinder 2 to connection
point 2 (24) and the gas pressure measurement line 2
(D) to the corresponding terminal 23.
When the pressure in the active gas cylinder drops to below 5% the
HBS Argon automatically switches to the full gas cylinder. If both
cylinders are empty, the message "Argon level LOW" appears on
36
Do not use the device in any case, if a error message appears at a
given time and the LCD monitor glows in a red colour!
Use Argon gas with a purity of at least 99,998 % or higher. At a
low purity, it is recommended to use a membrane- gas filter in
order not to endanger the safety of the patient.
