Commissioning

6. Reattach the battery box lid. Make sure that the sealing
(Fig. C 4) is correctly seated.
7. Tighten the screw (Fig. C 1).
Subsequent activities:
– Install the battery box.

6.2.3 Installing the battery box

Prerequisites:
– The gas detector is open.
– Insert the battery pack into the battery box.
Install the battery box:
1. Connect the grounding cable to the fastening screw for
potential equalization (Fig. A 16).
WARNING
► Use only the Dräger LBT 03** battery box.
2. Insert the battery box (Fig. A 2).
3. Close the gas detector:
a. Replace housing cover (Fig. A 1) and tighten it.
b. Tighten the set screw (Fig. A 13).
Subsequent activities:
– If a new battery pack has been inserted, reset the battery
counter.
NOTICE
► If the same battery pack is refitted, do not reset the battery
counter.

6.2.4 Resetting the battery counter

Can be performed within 10 minutes of switching on the gas
detector.
Feature is also available in PolySoft.
Resetting the battery counter:
● Hold the magnetic pen on the marking (Fig. A 11) for
5 seconds.
 The blue and yellow LEDs flash simultaneously.
The battery counter is reset.

Commissioning
1. Turn on the power supply or install the battery box (see
"Installing the battery box", page 26).
 Start sequence begins.
Green LED flashes.
 Warm-up phase starts.
 Warning signal is output.
Green and yellow LEDs flash.
2. Integrate the gas detector into the network (see "Network
integration", page 26).
3. Wait for the warm-up phase to finish.
The duration of the warm-up phase depends on the
sensor used (see sensor data sheet).
Settings with PolySoft can already be made.
 The warm-up phase is completed when only the green
LED still flashes.
4. Calibrate the gas detector (see "Calibration", page 27).
5. Test the signal chain by applying target gas to the sensor.

Network integration

8.1
Network integration
If there is no connection to the ISA100 Wireless
the gas detector emits an error signal after 10 minutes (yellow
LED lights up continuously). Causes, e.g.:
– ISA100 Wireless
network cannot be found
– ISA100 Wireless
network settings changed
When carrying out the network integration, also pay attention
to the documentation of the router and gateway used.
For a Yokogawa infrastructure, the creation of a YPIF file
(consignment file) is supported by PolySoft.
See technical manual "Wireless Communication ISA100-
TM
Wireless
" (order no. 91 00 000) for information about the
following:
– Recommended network components
– Creating the YPIF file (see also the PolySoftHTML help
pages)
8.2

Signal transmission to the controller

Interval of the measured value calculation: 1x per 1 second
Recommended publication rate: 1 x every 2 seconds
(Yokogawa Management Station)
For a short response time of the gas detector, set up the
gateway with a publication rate of ≤ 1x every 2 seconds.
If no sample gas is available, the gas detector only outputs
data for every sixth time window (power saving). If sample
gas is present in sufficient concentration, all time windows are
used.
8.3
ISA100 Wireless
The gas detector outputs ISA100 Wireless
with attributes for process values (PV) and diagnosis status
(DIAG_STATUS).
For further information see: "Troubleshooting", page 29.
8.4

Repeater feature

The feature can be enabled or disabled as part of the network
integration. For gas detector energy optimization, disabling
the feature is recommended when there is no need for it due
to the network topology.
