4. Cover the container with the lid (A).

recommended cooking time.
10. USEFUL ADVICE
• The exact steam cooking times will
vary according to the height the food is
placed. When cooking very high up, the
times might have to be increased.
• The steam cooking times established in
the tables are just guidelines. The times
can vary depending on the size of the
food pieces, the volume of the food in the
baskets, the freshness of the food and
personal taste. Adjust the cooking time as
you become more familiar with the steamer.
• A simple layer of food is cooked faster
than various layers. Therefore, the
cooking time will be increased for a large
quantity of foods.
• In order to obtain better results, make
sure that the food pieces are similar in
size. If the parts vary in size and various
layers required, put the smallest pieces in
the top part.
• Do not overfill the baskets and food
containers. Order the food with spaces
between them to allow maximum steam
to flow through.
• When steaming large quantities of
food, remove the lid halfway during
the cooking time and stir using a long-
handled utensil, protecting your hands
from the steam with oven gloves.
• Do not add salt or seasoning to the
basket until after cooking. This prevents
possible damage to the heating element
located in the water container.
• Keep the drip tray liquid to make soups,
sauces and stock.
• No not steam frozen meat, poultry or
seafood. Defrost them completely before
cooking.
• All the times given in the "Steam
cooking guide" use cold water in the
water container.
Recommendations for the seasoner:
Add fresh or dry herbs to the aromatising
filter to season the healthy food. By using
the aromatising filter:
a) Try using the list of condiments in
the steam cooking guide or use
your favourite herbs to create new
combinations.
b) The flavouring suggestions are 1/2 to 3
teaspoons of dried herbs or spices. If
you use fresh herbs, cut up the leaves
and triple the quantity.
c) To stop the small herbs or ground spices
falling into the aromatising filter, rinse
or dampen the filter before adding the
seasoning.
