Operation

Warning - Risk of injury due to escaping test
oil or due to parts being thrown around!
If the hydraulic connection of the test
equipment and the test sample is not made
correctly, test oil can escape at high pres-
sure, or parts of the test equipment can
burst when starting the test.
Before switching on, check that all the
hose lines on the test equipment and on
the test sample are connected correctly.
Do not open the anti-splash housing,
until the EPS drive has stopped.
Replace any leaking and defective hose
lines.
Wear safety goggles.
Wear safety shoes.
Warning: Noise is a risk to hearing
When performing tests with the EPS 815 the
noise level is in excess of 80 dB(A). Such
noise levels can permanently impair hearing.
Wear ear protection.

1. Switch on the EPS 815 at the master switch.
2. Close the shut-off cock for the test oil supply.
3. Switch on the converter and test oil pump at the
control panel (5).
4. Issue controller release for the drive motor at the
control panel (1).
5. Switch on the test oil heating at the control pan-
el (4).

Switch-off

1. Switch off the test oil heating at the control pan-
el (4).
2. Cancel controller release for the drive motor at the
control panel (1).
3. Switch off the converter and test oil pump at the
control panel (5).
4. Shut down the PC if using the quantity measurement
system KMA 802 / 822.
5. Switch off the EPS 815 at the master switch.

Emergency stop

5.3.1

Activating emergency stop

Only actuate the emergency stop switch in the event
of a fault.

Actuating the emergency stop switch could damage
the test equipment or unit under test as the supply
of test oil and lubricating oil is interrupted.
In the event of a fault, press the emergency stop
switch.

5.3.2

Deactivating emergency stop

1. Rectify the fault.
2. Pull out the red knob of the emergency stop switch
until it engages.
3. Switch on the EPS 815 (refer to Section 5.1, steps 1
to 5).
