4.10- Calculation of dosage

Use the distribution tables provided in this
manual where you will find the information
you need to make adjustments when
distributing the most used fertilizers and
seeds. However, it may be necessary to adjust
the flow depending on the different formulas,
granulometries and densities of the products
used or when applying a product that does
not have a table.
EFFECTIVE WORKING WIDTH
Initially, we must find out what the effective
working width is for the product which is
going to be spread.
Put a small amount of product into the
reservoir and adjust the flow regulator (C) to
an intermediate position (example: set the
scale to position 7).
working width
Spread the product with the tractor at a speed
of approximately 8 km/h and using a scale,
measure the width to which it was launched.
With this information, we can use the
following mathematical formula to calculate
the correct dosage:
DOSAGE = Q x V x L
600
Q
= APPLICATION RATE (kg/ha)
V
= TRACTOR SPEED (km/h)
C
L
= WORKING WIDTH (m)
600
= CONSTANT OF THE FORMULA
To illustrate the calculation, let's use the
following situation as an example:
We need to distribute any fertilizer at a rate
of 200 kg/ha, with working width of 24 m
and with the tractor at a speed of 6 km/h, so:
Q = 200 kg/ha
V = 6 km/h
Scale
L = 24 m
