5. Operation

5.2- Preventive test

Check that the machine is in perfect technical condition. Use it only if it is in perfect
conditions of use. Using a defective machine may be dangerous.
Before starting to work, perform a preventive test as follows:
ƒ Make sure the cardan shaft is properly locked in the machine shaft and in the power
take-off of the tractor.
ƒ Turn on the tractor;
ƒ Raise the machine to the desired distributing height, respecting the maximum
allowable incline for the cardan shaft (15
ƒ Turn on the tractor power take-off at idle, wait for the system to fully run and then
slowly accelerate the tractor until it reaches 540 rpm on the PTO shaft;
ƒ Observe the machine for a few seconds.
If you notice any abnormality or failure of the machine functions, excessive noise or
vibration, stop the machine immediately:
ƒ Immediately stop the tractor movement;
ƒ Disconnect the hydraulic system from the tractor;
ƒ Turn off the power take off and the tractor engine.
Check carefully:
ƒ Whether the launchers are in good condition of use;
ƒ If the machine is lubricated;

5.3- Tractor speed

The tractor's working speed is a factor that directly influences the application
rate per hectare. Choose the gear that provides an adequate speed considering
the local operating conditions.
Make sure your tractor has a sticker containing a chart and/or graph scale that reports
the speed for several revolutions per gear. If it does not exist, look for this information
in your Tractor Manual.

5.4- Power take-off speed

It is important to maintain 540 rpm at the tractor power take-off constant during
operation.
In case of doubts to get 540 rpm in the PTO, consult your tractor's manual.
